It was “survival” and only the strong survived. In this article, we highlight the power forwards who were mixing it up and getting after it in the paint.
Carolina Robinson Carolina Robinson 6'1" | SF West Lincoln | 2024 NC was very effective and did nothing fancy to be recognized. Robinson played the gsme with a workman’s like effort. She got great position in the paint and converted some easy shots. Her primary play was the pick and roll. She freed up here guards for open shots and also scored a few times off of the roll to the basket. Robinson rebounded the ball very effectively on both ends of the court and she got a lot of easy put-backs.

Nacoya Blocton Nacoya Blocton 6'0" | PF Ridgeview | 2025 State FL played well and continued her stellar play, both in the paint and out on the wing. In the painted area, Blocton did a good of scoring, finishing through contact, and getting to the freethrow line. Blocton is one of the best stretch 4s in the 2025 and the “stretch” aspect of her game was on full display as Blocton was converting on the outside and forcing power forwards to defend her beyond the paint.
Damireona Burch Damireona Burch 5’11” | PF Bunker Hill | 2024 NC played very well at the 4 position. Burch has great strength and can play through contact. She has the ability to shoot and score from various angles. She also takes the ball up with authority, so anyone defending her will have to be a little physical to have success. Burch had 17 points in one game I covered.
Savannah Brown Savannah Brown 5’11” | PF Landrum | 2024 State SC was very good down in tnr paint this past weekend. The most impressive part of her game were her suttle movements without the ball. Brown has a high basketball IQ and plays with great anticipation. She has the ability to position herself down on the block for easy catches and scores. Like a great wide receiver, Brown has very soft hands and makes difficult catches look routine. Once she halls in the the ball she knowa how to put the ball in the basket.
