I already dropped something on those not in high school yet on my BLOG for grades 3rd through 7th and the 8th graders on my WEBSITE so here are the BIG GIRLS
Lauren Southerland
Southerland has shown continuous progression over the season as she stands around the magic number which is 6’0 so her improved timing to block shots is a big plus to go along with her rebounding on both ends, scoring around the baskets, putbacks included as well as interior defense
Tiarriah Tynes
Tynes plays the passing lane over and over and that is something I love to see yet her ability to take the defender off the dribble and finish after contact was nice, so was slight HEZ to get the defender off balance. She also handled the ball and saw the floor, both under pressure
Itza Guevana
Guevana is a heady guard that does a good job playing within herself yet her understanding of positioning helped her outrebound taller players. She also has quick hands and came away with steals but watching her use a deceptive first step to attack and finish was nice
#24
She is an athletic guard that uses her athleticism on both ends, first of all, she plays the passing lane, again I love to seeing that but I also love seeing players use body control while attacking the basket, which she does and it helps her to score after contact
Courtney Upshaw
Upshaw falls into a category I love to hashtag and that’s #sizedontmatter when you can play and watching her “on the ball” defense was nice because it helped create turnovers, and so did her hands as she picked several pockets which led to baskets going the other way
CHOSEN
Lola Hackradt
Hackradt does a good job creating her shot under pressure to drop the jumper or attack the basket which she did from multiple angles. Her pull-up jumper in transition was also nice, and so was her court vision as she saw the floor in the set as well as in the open court
Mazariah Lynch
Lynch was another athletic guard that brought heat on both ends because her baseline-to-baseline pressure was solid and she, you guessed it, played the passing lane. She set the defender up nicely to get her shot off yet even nicer was her showing the “catch and shoot” from deep
Jada Colbert
Colbert handled the ball and saw the floor going full speed yet when she made the pass behind the back in transition without breaking a stride, I just smiled. She was explosive off the dribble in the set, she finished after contact and her defense was solid
TNBA
Paige Rolls
Rolls has the right name because her FLOATA rolled off her fingers with ease for baskets. She does a good job creating her shot under pressure and her knocking it down with a hand in her face was nice
Kylie Lou
Lou continues to show she can take the defender off the dribble with either hand but her handing the ball in the open court and making “on the money” passes in traffic was a plus, so was her body control to finish
Michaya Robinson
Robinso is another “BIG” that has shown improvement since the season started and her being physical around the basket sends messages as contact is becoming irrelevant on her finishes. She’s also rebounding stronger as well as defending in and outside the paint better
