Gerving a 5’10 G/F really came out of her shell last year and was a big part of both sides of the Saint’s game. At 5’10 Gerving is very versatile on the floor offensively and defensively alike. Offensively she has showed her ability to shoot the ball nicely from 10-15′, but also can connect from deep as well. On top of that with her long frame she pulls down boards and is one of those players who can really set the temp for a game and turn a game around as well. Gerving does a lot of good things on the floor, and this year I expect her to really have a big break out year she’s been waiting for.
Eden Fridley Eden Fridley 5'9" | CG Bismarck Century | 2024 State ND : Century- The UMary Commit has 1 final year wearing a Patriots Jersey before she heads to Umary to play for Coach Rick Neumann. Fridley is no stranger to the WDA or State for that matter. Fridley is a very gifted athlete that has really improved significantly over the last few years, and you can count on her being the floor general this year for the Patriots. Last year in her junior year she averaged 10.2PPG, shot 40% from the field. Fridley does so many good things on the court it’s really hard to pin one down that really separates her, but I would have to say her ability to see the floor, make plays happen and her grit when going gets tough stands out. She’s relentless, has a winning mentality and wants to end her career with another deep run in State. She’s a fun one to watch, and a bright future lies ahead for her.
Paige Breuer Paige Breuer 5'7" | CG Bismarck | 2024 State ND : Bismarck- Another familiar name in the WDA is coming back for her final year, and hopefully an exciting one at that. Breuer has proven over and over again why she is one of the best PGs in the WDA and her ability to create scoring opportunities, or score herself is something she can credit to her work ethic and time spent in the gym honing her skills in. Breuer is flat out a fun player to watch, she is scrappy, can hit shots from anywhere and has this great ability to sneak her way into the paint and be a menace with a nice little floater in the lane. She does so many good things on the floor and makes the games exciting to watch. Along with her you also have Jersey Berg Jersey Berg 5'11" | SF Bismarck | 2024 State ND coming back as well, when you have those 2 together on the floor, anything is possible. If you have the opportunity to watch the BHS Demons this year, I know you won’t be disappointed.
Jayden Wiest Jayden Wiest 5'5" | CG Mandan | 2024 State ND : Mandan – If there is one athlete you can’t leave out of this conversation it’s definitely Jayden Wiest Jayden Wiest 5'5" | CG Mandan | 2024 State ND . After sitting out her Soph year the no incoming senior had a big hunger to get back on the floor last year and pick up right where she left off. Wiest isn’t the biggest on the floor by any means, but she does a lot of things good on the floor and can really set the temp/pace of a game really quick. Her ability to knock down deep shots from behind the arc is nothing short of impressive, but also her ball handling skills and her toughness as a defender really kick things up a notch for her. Last year she averaged12.5PPG, shot 28% from behind the line and added 85 assist to the Braves stat line. With her talent mixed with Guards Hailey Markel Hailey Markel 5'8" | SG Mandan | 2024 State ND , Ziah Greybull, Harper Harris Harper Harris 5'8" | CG Mandan | 2025 State ND , and Power Forward McKenna Johnson McKenna Johnson 6'2" | PF Mandan | 2025 State ND plus a handful of other younger players that had significant time for the Braves last season, Mandan could be a VERY tough team to beat this year. With Wiest bringing the ball up, you know they’re in good hands and she’s bound for a big year with her eyes set on a deep State Tournament run, something the Braves should be excited about.
