Wilson is “long and athletic” and in case you don’t know, that is the BASE. I love that profile, yet importantly so do college coaches and they offer next-level opportunities. She’s gotten stronger, and she’s also more comfortable handling the ball after rebounding, which she does on both ends, yet her going C2C under pressure, that’s coast to coast, top score, or hit teammates in transition, was very nice. She also attacked the basket from the wing and finished strongly after contact but her defense, both in and outside the paint has also jumped
Wilson has also shown progression and she too is “long and athletic”, see above. Hey, I have always enjoyed her pressure on defense baseline yet seeing her do something that I love watching, playing the passing lane, got me going. She also has good timing to block, alter and (or) deflect shots but her athleticism comes in handy as she glides to the basket to score over defenders or rebound, she does that both on the offensive and defensive end and scores on putbacks, as well as around the basket
Jazmyne Gilbert Jazmyne Gilbert 5'8" | SG Heights | 2025 State TX
Gilbert is a “long and athletic” guard, that too is the base and works the same way speaking of work, she understands how to go hard on both ends from start to finish as she’s one of those “never takes a play off” type of player. Her first step has always been impressive yet she’s more explosive off the dribble and when you factor in her body control helps enable her to finish acrobatically, even after the lick, that’s special. She can drop the mid to long-range jumper, she even showed the stop-and-pop pull-up going full speed in transition
Andrea Sturdivant Andrea Sturdivant 5'6" | SG Fort Bend Austin | 2025 State TX
Sturdivant is one of the top guards in her Texas class, what else would she be after I dropped #D1Lock on her in elementary school going off against high school players heading to college. She falls into that “never scared” group and can change the momentum of a game from either end, in the blink of an eye. Her “on the ball” pressure had me sweating and she came from nowhere to grab teals in the passing lane yet her court vision and threading the needle between defenders for baskets was special, and so were deep threes, 35-footers at the BUZZER for the win
Golden just grabbed my attention at the Houston Christian Camp a few weeks ago and not just because she is 6’3 and was wearing my daughter’s #51 number. This time around, she wore 74 which is probably how old I’ll be out here if my granddaughter winds up playing yet, Golden showed me yet another side. She handled the ball after rebounding and took it coast to coast while being defended to score, she also did a good job attacking from the wing yet her stepping outside to drop the midrange jumper a few times had me smiling
