It’s become a key position on the court and Michigan’s class of 2026 has some very good ones. Let’s look at the top 5 power forwards in the updated rankings.
Williams is an elite power forward on a national scale. She offers a vast array of talents at the 4. Williams is long and athletic and protects the rim with the best of them. She plays good help defense and there is very rarely an uncontested look near the rim for her opponents. On the offensive end, Williams can score in a variety of ways, from put back buckets to strong 2 dribble drive from the high post.
The younger half of the double-double sisters will be causing headaches for opponents for a few more years. She’s active and bouncy under the bucket and reads the ball well off the rim. Swanson has good ball control and touch when it’s in her hands. She has really good footwork on both ends of the floor.

They develop talent at Belleville and Chinemelu has the makings of a great one. She plays good vertical defense under the rim which helps her challenge shooters and stay out of foul trouble. Chinemelu does a great job boxing out and sealing her defender when the shot goes up. She can finish through contact, draw fouls and get to the free throw line.
Dickens has loads of talent and upside as a post player in the class of 2026. She’s underrated athletically and plays even taller than she is by not waiting for a rebound to fall to her, but instead going up and going after it. Dickens has added some ball skills and shooting to her tool belt and will be a tough cover this coming high school season.

Johnson was flying under the radar a bit until she came out with a very impressive grassroots season. She thrived while playing up a couple age divisions for Great Northern Elite . Johnson is one of the best post defenders in the 2026 class and can play with a high level of smoothness and athleticism.
