This article focuses on the Burlington County Scholastic League and a number of players to watch for the upcoming school year.
Aneesa Artis Aneesa Artis SG Burlington City | 2024 State NJ – Burlington City (2024)
We’ve sung Artis’s praises in the BCSL for the past two years as she’s been the shining piece for Burlington City and their unquestionable team leader heading into her senior season. Averaging a career-high 14.3 PPG as a junior is just a testament to the work she’s put in so far, but that is far from where we think she’ll end up once March comes around.
Hannah Abele Hannah Abele SG Riverside | 2026 State NJ – Riverside (2026)
Riverside had a season to forget last winter and spring, but a bright spot for the program was the play of freshman Hannah Abele Hannah Abele SG Riverside | 2026 State NJ . The guard was an offensive juggernaut for the team, averaging 9.0 PPG with 1.6 made three-pointers a game, and her defense showed out just as much, averaging 2.7 steals a game. A three & D type player, she has great potential to be a star.
Samara Johnson Samara Johnson CG Doane Academy | 2024 State NJ – Doane Academy (2024)
From one stellar perimeter shooter to another, we head to Samara Johnson Samara Johnson CG Doane Academy | 2024 State NJ over at Doane Academy, coming off a career year that showed great progress just from her sophomore season. She’s knocked down 70 three-pointers over the last two seasons and definitely can score 15 points a game or more depending on if she can keep up the consistency she’s shown since her sophomore year.
Mikayla Taylor Mikayla Taylor 5'8" | CG Westampton Tech | 2025 State NJ – Westampton Tech (2025)
Honestly a great all-around player, Taylor had herself a year as a sophomore, averaging over 15 points a game and closing in on double-double averages overall. Her free throw shooting stayed above 75 percent, her passing improved and her defense took a big jump in success and production. She, along with Zoey Spady Zoey Spady 5'3" | PG Westampton Tech | 2024 State NJ , will be leading the offense in the winter, and she’s undoubtedly going to be elite once again.
Qui-Mia Wilkins Qui-Mia Wilkins 5'7" | SF Pemberton | 2025 State NJ – Pemberton (2025)
Wilkins is a wild card on this list, having missed all but six games last season due to injury, but in those six games, she managed to put up a 35-point double-double and a 26-point performance for Pemberton. If she’s fully healthy come the winter, she’s going to be a nightmare to guard and a nightmare to play against. Both sides of the court, she’s going to be an absolute monster.
Olivia Stillwell Olivia Stillwell 5'9" | PF New Egypt | 2026 NJ – New Egypt (2026)
The big question surrounding New Egypt coming into the season is how will the Warriors go about replacing the production of Payton Arnold, who graduated in the spring. There’s a lot to replace, especially in the leadership department. However, players waiting in the wings, including the rising sophomore Stillwell, a fantastic backcourt option last season and the main forward New Egypt will rely on this season.
