Kylie Pung Kylie Pung SG Howell | 2025 State MI (#24) is a terrific track athlete with the grace and speed of a gazelle on the court. To prove my point, she went 3/4 last season against Northville to help seal a win. Something unique about Kylie is how active she is defensively. Her length, lateral quickness, and relentless pursuit, make her a nightmare on ball defender. She shoots with a rainbow arc, bouncing comfortably off her toes under control. Kylie does an excellent job gathering herself by centering herself prior to shooting; with her high snapping follow through that’s a lethal combination. She is an outstanding spot up shooter who has the speed and strides to outrun you to the rim if you over pursuit on the perimeter. This junior has the attitude, competitiveness, and humility to be an excellent prospect. See her this fall and find out!

Warning: Do not leave her open. Lexi Ringley Lexi Ringley SG Heritage | 2024 State MI is what they call a knock down shooter: she will make you pay if you let her. At 5’11 she has the height, length, and quickness to catch the ball and release it without much separation. Lexi made 6 triples in a game last season and that does not surprise me at all. She does well keeping her feet lined up and hands ready to put the shot up as her teammates draw defenders around her. Lexi snaps her wrist with a high finish and can shoot accurately off the dribble as well. A luxury to have spotting up around the perimeter, she makes it extremely difficult for defenses to play help. Get ready for a show when you see her on the court this fall. Hear Lexi talk about her track performance with “Mlive” here.
The first time I saw Kendyl Smith Kendyl Smith 5’9″ | PG Flint Powers Catholic | 2026 State MI play live I thought she was a 2024: she’s fast, plays strong, and carries herself with confidence that few 2026’s have. She weaves through defenders with precision and creates open shots for teammates. If her opponents forget exactly how accurate and deadly she is from deep, she will remind them with a volleyball line three. She finished #6 in the state (as a freshman) in 3-point FG% at 44.25% according to BCAM. Her 5’9 frame gives her the advantage against many guards to create space with the dribble and finish. A favorite moment of mine happened at Mcbrook this summer when Kendyl volunteered herself to play with my Lapeer squad during the scrimmage, we only had five. She communicated and played as hard with my team as she did her own. During the game, she gave respect by listening to instruction, making eye contact, asking clarification, and running my plays to help our team get better. That display of humility and character shows how special this kid really is: beyond ability. Keep your eyes peeled for this one heading into fall! Can someone guard her please? Molly will bring the ball up the court, feed the post, then as soon as she catches you napping…bang! She can pull up from the volleyball line and step into one if you aren’t pressuring her. Molly also creates a problem for defenses as she runs through elevator screens and spots up around the arc. The post play at Marian creates nonstop situations where she can utilize her step back dribble to get an open look. Molly loads up to shoot with a balanced, powerful stance, shooting in rhythm using a high follow through. See her light it up with Marian this fall! Read more from our staff about Molly here.
Highlights
Madison “Spaghetti” Spanicciati is a 6’0 wing who runs like a deer with the wingspan to make you think twice before shooting over her. Maddie has the competitor’s edge, her eyes get “big” with focus, then it’s lights out! Her length makes her dynamic by having the ability to drive downhill to the rim and finish into contact, but if you give her space she has the range to pepper the basket with deep 3’s. She’s someone who wants the ball in her hands in important moments and isn’t afraid to let it fly. Maddie can create separation with a retreat dribble and pull up from deep: she doesn’t need to be on balance to make the shot. When she turns it on there’s no stopping her from getting to the rim or pulling up from deep. She is raw and will become even better as she masters her balance, footwork, and shooting release. She had a team high 25 points in a game with 14 rebounds twice last season. Her athleticism is off the charts and schools will want to see her play this fall! Check out her best travel game from the Cagers tournament below and see her Hudl highlights! Read more about Maddie in “The County Press“.
Makenna Buterakous
Makenna Buterakous
2025 CG Makenna Buterakous has extreme range and I am not exaggerating. Prior to fracturing her foot, she was lighting it up with Mcbrook at independent travel events this summer. I experienced first hand how deep she can shoot the ball. She will pull up from past the volleyball line and can shoot accurately spotting up or off the dribble. Makenna religiously puts up shots on the Dr. Dish to perfect her accuracy and it shows! She is 100,000+ shots better than 50% from 3pt, 55%+ 2pt, and 80%+ on FT using the machine: make friends with this one! Keep tabs on this three point threat as we look forward to watching her compete again after a full recovery!
