Of the five players selected, four are from New Jersey, and one we already discussed in another article today. Let’s break down the selections below.
Alani Gordon Alani Gordon 5'5" | PG Elizabeth | 2025 State NJ – Elizabeth (2025)
Gordon impressed in a big way at the event and despite not being the tallest on the court, she makes up for it in a number of different ways, the biggest one of all being her shooting ability. We’re enamored with her three-point shooting efficiency, her shooting stroke being pure and shooting motion effortless. She’s one who can hit with range as well, so it’s not shocking that roughly 50 percent of her offense came from the three-point line as a sophomore. Great things are coming her way as a junior, guaranteed.
Averie Harding Averie Harding 6'2" | PF Egg Harbor Township | 2025 State NJ – Egg Harbor Township (2025)
It was completely unintentional that we ended up talking about Harding twice today, but it’s a testament to how good she’s been in all facets of her game. The 6-2 combo forward has garnered the eyes of college scouts and us as high school basketball fans with a complete package of scoring, rebounding, grit, tenacity and defense. Needing to be an enforcer down low, a stalwart, a brick wall, comes with the territory of being a big, and Harding has done that to a T thus far in her career.
Tessa Lozner Tessa Lozner 5'7" | PG Gill St. Bernard's | 2025 State NJ – Gill St. Bernard’s (2025)
Lozner is a classic point guard archetype with x-factors that we’re seeing her unlock in real time. This past summer playing with United NJ’s 17U Select team in AAU ball has been her best, both in growth and in how she consumes the game from the point guard position. She needs to be a leader among women, and we can definitely see those character traits coming out. It’s also impressive watching her get her teammates involved, and more than three assists a game already is a great stepping stone toward success.
Hope Masonius Hope Masonius 5'9" | PG Manasquan | 2024 State NJ – Manasquan (2024)
The lone rising senior on the third team from New Jersey and also the lone college commit that we know, Masonius, the future Bucknell Bison, is the near-complete form of what we think Lozner will develop into as a point guard. Masonius has been the leader of Manasquan over the past few seasons at the top of the key, and as she’s developed into a strong all-around talent, she’s helped to build her teammates up and make the program as well-rounded as possible.
