No. 1: [player_tooltip player_id='414250' first='Emma' last='Thornton'] - Barnegat (No. 23 overall)

Thornton will be talked about more as a top 25 player in New Jersey, but looking at her resume, she's the top center in these rankings for a reason. Her second-straight season with double-double averages, Thornton turned things up a notch as a sophomore, averaging just under 18.0 PPG and 14.8 RPG in 26 games, recording 22 double-doubles overall. Just a fantastic player who is constantly evolving and improving, Thornton is expected to build upon her past success as a junior.

No. 2: [player_tooltip player_id='583769' first='Debra' last='Hill'] - Pingry (No. 43 overall)

Hill came out of absolutely nowhere with Pingry, a bench player as a freshman to the featured forward on the team as a sophomore, achieving a double-double average in her first season as a starter. There was no adjustment period for Hill, averaging 12.1 PPG and 10.7 RPG for Pingry, but her defense was truly the star of the show, recording nearly two blocks a game and 2.5 steals a game. Once she got the opportunity to start, she's taken it and never looked back.

No. 3: [player_tooltip player_id='414249' first='Lindsay' last='Rivera'] - Keansburg (No. 53 overall)

Where people had questions about Rivera's offensive success following her freshman year, those people and questions are no more. Rivera made a big jump offensively as a sophomore, averaging 12.7 PPG in 20 games, more than doubling her freshman scoring totals. Her prowess on the boards stayed consistent, averaging a double-double for the first time in her career. Rivera's overall growth is definitely something to watch come the fall/winter.

No. 4: [player_tooltip player_id='414305' first='Molly' last='Sholders'] - Gateway (No. 75 overall)

Sholders is an interesting case in these rankings, having played in just seven games last season before missing the rest of the year from early January on. Her start was incredibly promising for what we hope can be a successful junior season, averaging just over 10.0 PPG and 11.0 RPG, not to mention more than two blocks a game. The success is there, but Sholders just needs to find a way to stay healthy and play as much of her junior season as she can.

No. 5: [player_tooltip player_id='414344' first='Delenie' last='Streeter'] - Rahway (No. 88 overall)

Streeter is a stock riser for us, a classic, but great example of a player making the best of a starting role on the court. She showed signs of success as a freshman, but her sophomore year is where she put the pieces together, averaging 12.7 PPG, 7.2 RPG and nearly 2.5 blocks a game in 23 games played. Along with that, Streeter recorded seven double-doubles, an active and impact player on both sides of the floor and someone who can rise even further in the rankings come this winter.
