Gabby Piepho Gabby Piepho CG Howell | 2026 State MI played travel basketball for Capitol City Express this summer, following an exceptional freshman campaign at Howell. Gabby is an outstanding ball handler who creates separation and plays off the dribble. She delivers passes to open teammates very well, and will maintain awareness of teammates spotting up as she drives. Gabby is a knockdown shooter and never stops being a threat to score with her 3 point range. Gabby has the courage to get downhill and finish through contact around the rim, she will also take a charge. Gabby communicates with her hands and voice on the court: she plays with passion. If you fail her on a shoot just give her team two points because she shoots 87.63% from the charity stripe! Gabby is a top point guard in the state and as a 2026, the sky is the limit! She is someone you will want to find this fall before we hit the winter season! See more of Gabby’s 2022 season here.
Heritage PG Breeghan Hamilton Breeghan Hamilton 5’6″ | CG Heritage | 2026 State MI plays the game strong, physical, and tough. Her low and controlled dribble on top of how quick and elusive she is, makes her a nightmare to match up with as a coach. Breeghan can split defenders and utilize dribble techniques necessary to beat a press without help, your pressure will most likely lead to a reaching foul. Her downhill instincts are a perfect fit for the dribble drive awesome, her getaway steps are explosive and quick. She moves the defender and if you overplay her in a direction she will attack the paint like a tailback. Breeghan rebounds well and applies immense pressure on the ball when defending: her lateral movement and centered balance stand out. As soon as she touches the ball in the back court she is off to the races and will make you stop her or she’s taking it all the way. When Raegan Byrd dribbles the ball up the floor, you ask yourself, “how am I going to stop this kid?” Raegan is an excellent ball handler who has unique athletic ability, but still creates opportunities for teammates and shares the ball. She has “Deep” range and can pull up into a rhythmic shot out near the volleyball line if you’re playing off. Raegan uses her tools of the jab steps, step back, and sweep to create separation and has a very natural pull up game. She finishes off of two feet very well around the paint and will not avoid contact. Her balance and defensive positioning make her a good on ball defender, she’s someone teammates look to on the court to make plays and she delivers. Her strength and explosiveness make her a difficult matchup at the guard position. Raegan played AAU with Michigan Storm 2024 RISE this summer, click here to view her profile. Offers keep coming in for this one as she heads into her final season with the Lady Jacks. Check out Raegan on Twitter!
Anna was impressive to see play as a sophomore on Varsity during the 2021-22 season and she’s even better now. Anna’s communication on defense is ever present whether it’s early or late in the game, you watch her run up and down the court wondering if she will ever get tired or come out of the game: she rarely does. She uses the push-out dribble masterfully to create transition scoring and tracks the ball like a hawk. Anna has the strength the grab a steal and outlet it two handed to sprinting teammates. She plays downhill and attacks her opponent scanning the floor for open teammates. Her finishing footwork and soft hands in addition to her pull-up game make her a headache for defenses: she will knock down the open three. Anna pushes the ball steadily up the floor and has the ability/confidence to take her defender off the dribble. She gets downhill so quickly from the perimeter, that by the time help gets there she’s on the line shooting two. You’ll definitely want to keep her on your radar heading into the fall season. The Other Twins
Most people who have been around the game this past year know all about Lake Fenton’s famous twins the Smith sisters, for good reason! However, they aren’t the only twins at Lake Fenton who should be getting attention! These two girls absolutely turned it up for their independent travel club this summer and left an impression on me in the process.
When you watch Ella (left handed #1) run the point, you feel like you’re listening to smooth jazz. She calmly reads the defense, takes what they give her, and makes the right reads. Her body positioning as she dribbles the ball is textbook: shielding defenders and continuing to attack space. Ella uses her body, footwork, and big steps to create separation for shots and passes that most players would not have. She continually gets to the rim and free throw line, using an attack and stutter. She has an excellent pull-up game and the range to make three’s off the dribble or spotting up. Her strength is creating offense by driving downhill for herself and post players. I look forward to seeing Ella and Anna compete at Mcbrook this fall!

Shooter Alert! Anna (right handed #3) is lethal from beyond the arc. A trademark of her game is the deep three, and I mean deep. She will pull up from the volleyball line extended and drain a triple. She is an absolute thief on the court and will get her hands into the passing lanes to create steals. Anna moves very well without the ball and her balance keeps her in position for a quick shot. This green light shooter is ready to make a splash this fall. Come see Anna and Ella play this fall at Mcbrook!
