And while I know it’s a winter sport and still months away, it’s hard not to look forward to the excitement that this season will bring. Anticipation is building for the following 2024’s who are primed for more prominent roles on their respective teams and ready for their moment in the sun… or snow, because winter 😉
Diamyndh Oakley Diamyndh Oakley SF Woodbury | 2024 NJ | 5’7″ | SF
With the graduation of forwards Kadirah Sanders and Alexis Davis comes an opportunity for Diamyndh to truly have the breakout season she is capable of. Her physicality in and around the paint has proven tough for opponents to handle in the past, as she plays much bigger than her 5’7″ frame suggests. She’s ferocious on the glass and tenacious when applying defensive pressure. With a knack for getting to the rim aggressively, it’ll be quite the task for opponents to match-up with her one on one and successfully contain her.
Eliott McCabe Eliott McCabe 5'10" | SF Wildwood Catholic | 2024 State NJ | 5’10” | SF
The picture of versatility, El’s game is one that has grown and evolved rapidly over the course of their high school career. Coming off a very successful grassroots season, El has taken their level of physicality to new heights and added even more skill to an already loaded arsenal. This senior season may potentially see career totals of 500 points and 400 rebounds, while possibly also crossing the century mark in 3-pointers made and assists dished.
Jada Branford Jada Branford 5'8" | C Cherokee | 2024 State NJ | 5’8″ | C
With the graduation of five superstars last season, Jada’s role will now be even greater for the Lady Chiefs as their lone senior leader. A fierce post presence, her ability to play confidently and efficiently with her back to the basket will prove crucial for a young Cherokee squad. Strong weak side rebounding and imperative rim protection will make opponents rethink and reconsider their tactics. The more post-entry passes Jada gets, the more opportunities this team will have to pile points on the board.
Aubri Luckey Aubri Luckey 5'2" | CG Atlantic City | 2024 NJ | 5’2″ | CG
It will be a new-look Vikings team when practice gets underway this Fall, but one thing will remain the same: Aubri’s hunger, drive and passion for the game. The departure of seven seniors means more minutes and a chance for a memorable season. An absolute bullet in transition, Aubri’s speed and uptempo style of play will fuel this squad in what looks to be a rebuilding season. She can dictate and set up the half-court offense or burn opponents with her spot-up shooting behind the arc. Defensively, she turns up the heat and loves to pick pockets and force turnovers. Breakout season loading!
Tiffany Pecorella Tiffany Pecorella 5'7" | SG Franklin | 2024 State NJ | 5’7″ | CG
Coming off a scorching summer season with Team Sharp , Tiffany is locked, loaded and ready to reunite with her Franklin teammates. If her hot shooting from aau ball carries over into the high school season, it could spell trouble for defenders far and wide. She shot lights out from 3 and burned opponents from 15 feet with her silky smooth jump shot. The “Charge Queen,” as she’s known in the hoops community, Tiffany understands court awareness and timing and positions herself perfectly to draw the offensive foul on her opponent, which in turn causes a world of frustration. This senior season, she could very well eclipse 100 made 3-pointers, 400 points, 100 rebounds and 100 assists for her career!
