<p>The second commit of the day across the state of Florida from the rising senior class has found a new home. [player_tooltip player_id='248345' first='Clare' last='Coyle'] committed to Furman University earlier in the day.</p>

<p>The latest commitment comes from St. John Neumann Catholic 6-3 rising senior forward Sophia McCartney who announced her commitment on her social media platforms to Army.</p>

<p>McCartney chose the Black Knights over Austin Peay, Bowling Green, North Florida and several others.</p>

<p>McCartney plays with a big presence in the interior on both ends of the floor whether it's her shooting for a high percentage, rebounding or elite shot blocking. Last season, McCartney averaged 19.9 points, 16.9 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 2.9 steals and 2.3 blocks per game for the Celtics finishing 19-8 and reaching the regional quarterfinals.</p>

<p>During the grassroots circuit, McCartney plays for Central Florida Elite where she is teammates with [player_tooltip player_id='217664' first='Lexi' last='Blue'] (Virginia Tech commit), [player_tooltip player_id='223784' first='Nicole' last='Carreno'] (Holds offers from North Florida and Western Carolina) and Raeanne Eccelston (Holds offers from Bethune-Cookman, Jacksonville, Radford, South Carolina State and several others).</p>

<p>McCartney was also named to the Naples Daily News All-Area Girls Basketball First Team last season where she also took home the Player of the Year Award. </p>

<p>McCartney returns to St. John Neumann this upcoming season where she will be joined by 6-2 senior forward Sydney Martin, 5-7 sophomore guard Hailey Scheffler and 5-6 sophomore guard Ava Martin. </p>
