Paige Kjerstad Paige Kjerstad 5'10" | SF Wall | 2024 State SD – Wall – 5’11 – A huge reason Wall made it to the State Championship game and an even bigger reason why they look to go back and take the crown this coming year. Paige is a hooper through and through. A deadly scorer that can hurt you inside and out shooting a healthy 52% from the field last year and 26% from beyond the arc. On the year Paige proved to be a walking double-double averaging 18 points, 12 rebounds and 2 steals a game. If you like back to the basket or a strong rip from a mid-range gamer then please… Let me introduce you to Paige Kjerstad Paige Kjerstad 5'10" | SF Wall | 2024 State SD .
Audrey Nelson Audrey Nelson 6'0" | CG Madison | 2024 State SD – Madison – 6′ – Audrey is listed as a combo guard, but definitely plays more like a 3. She’s long athletically inclined and physical! If you’re interested in volleyball athleticism mixed with a flare of basketball talent then you’ve found your player. A D1 commit for Volleyball Audrey averaged nearly 13 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals a game last year. She’s got solid court awareness and uses that gifted length so well playing the passing lanes for loose balls.
Rhea Tucker Rhea Tucker 5'9" | SF Wall | 2024 State SD – Wall – 6′ – Another Wall talent that is back this year for blood. Rhea reminds me of a traditional 4 man, but with handles to keep up with the times. She’s got a nice mid-range shot, but really excels at bullying smaller guards that switch onto her in the post. Rhea shot 32% from the field last year and 26% from beyond the arc. On the year she averaged 11 points, 8 rebounds and nearly 3 steals a game. If you’re looking for a championship contender team to watch next year I can’t stress enough to watch this duo between Rhea and Kjerstad.
Olivia Holman – Great Plains Lutheran – 6’1 – A big body that really has grown into her frame. Her offensive contribution has really excelled this year and she’s come into a starting role for Great Plains Lutheran. Olivia has a nice mid-range game and really stepped up her inside game this year scoring at an efficient 55% from the field scoring nearly 10 points, snagging 6 rebounds, and getting 1 block a game. If Olivia figures out how to put the ball on the deck from 15 out, bullying past opponents and finishing around the rim she could easily take Great Plains far into the playoff hunt.
Kim Johnson – Newell – 5’7 – Kim is an undersized forward that’s got above-average speed and lateral quickness. She plays physcial and really can get under a lot of taller forwards with a lower center of gravity. The most impressive attribute about Kim is she’s a workhorse! A player that isn’t going to quit on a play and really strives to better herself on the court. This past year she averaged 7 points, 6 rebounds and 2 steals a game. She’s a player that can be a real game-changer. If she gets that added bit of confidence this year she can easily average a double-double for her squad.
That’s our segment on rising forwards. The last article we’ll do revolves around senior Centers that you shouldn’t overlook this coming year.
