Denver Carlton Denver Carlton 5’10” | SF Bishop O’Connell | 2026 State VA always had a lot of potential, and you saw it in flashes last season, especially toward the end. But this summer, I’ve seen her grow as a player, specifically with her decision-making and understanding of the game. I’ve always liked her athleticism and scoring ability, but now I see her becoming more adept as a passer and lead ball handler. Bishop O’Connell has a lot of good guards, but I see Denver starting and being their most impactful offensive player. Bishop O’Connell will play faster because of their guard play, and Denver will benefit from that this year.
Dru Carlton Dru Carlton 5’8″ | SG Bishop O’Connell | 2026 State VA has improved a lot, and her ability to play off of whoever has the ball is significant moving forward. I like her shooting ability a lot, and similar to her sister, she’s an outstanding athlete with good length. Again Bishop O’connell playing with tempo would serve her well, and the Carlton sister’s improvements will help improve Bishop O’connell from last year record-wise.
Adriana Mayorga Adriana Mayorga 5’4″ | PG Bishop O’Connell | 2026 State VA was solid last year with her defense and intensity. I mentioned how many guards Bishop O’Connell has, so it’ll be interesting to see what her role is exactly. But what I do know is Adriana is going to compete on defense. She plays the right way and can be an excellent secondary ball handler.
Highlights
I watched Claire Kang Claire Kang 5’5″ | PG Centreville | 2026 State VA a lot last season, and it’s no surprise she sees herself ranked now. Claire handled most of Centreville’s ball-handling duty the previous season and did well. Centreville was excellent last year and will return almost everyone. They will be one of the best teams in NOVA, and Claire Kang Claire Kang 5’5″ | PG Centreville | 2026 State VA will be their engine. Claire handles and passes the ball well. She can also knock down open shots. Claire has sharpened up some of the little things she struggled with last season, and the number next to her name is well deserved.
Alexandria Broadus Alexandria Broadus 6’1″ | PF Thomas Dale | 2026 State VA is a talented wing/forward with great size. I saw her play a little for Thomas Dale last year, and she flashed some real potential. She had a great summer and developed into a complete scorer. She shoots over smaller players and fights through contact in the paint. She’s a good jump shooter and a capable defender with her length. Thomas Dale will be excellent, and Alexandria will be a big part of their plans.
