Amari Grant (6’1/F)
Amari is the interior presence that will provide the paint presence needed for the Lady Huskies. She has good positional size and scores the ball well around the rim. She makes her presence felt on both ends of the floor with her scoring, as mentioned, and with her ability to challenge and block shots on the defensive end of the floor. She rebounds at a high rate, and her impact will be seen across the scoresheet night in and night out.
Mallory Rhodes (5’10/G)
Mallory is a big guard who can score the rock. She is an athletic wing who can create her own shot and will be looked upon to be a big source of scoring production on the offensive end of the floor. She is a two-way player whose length is a factor, especially when defending out in space.
Jeterrica Moody (5’6/G)
Jeterrica is a small and feisty two-way player who gets after it on both ends of the floor. She will be looked upon to be a source of scoring from the guard spot. She is small but very athletic and often wins her one-on-one match-ups due to her athleticism. Jeterrica will also bring a level of toughness on defense as she is an aggressive on-ball defender.
When asked about two players who will be key pieces of the puzzle for the team this season that were not listed in the top three above, Coach Graham quickly mentioned the following three players:
Brook Kelley (2024) will be looked upon to provide senior leadership and will be looked to lead on and off the court. Brook brings a lot of energy and effort to the floor, as well as a physical style of play.
Coach Graham was really excited to discuss the team’s two freshmen, Isabel Heintz and Hannah Satterfield Hannah Satterfield 5'2" | PG Helena | 2027 AL , who both play at a high intensity and with a sense of urgency on both sides of the ball. Both Isabel and Hannah will showcase a skillset better than many their age.
Coach Graham is looking for the Lady Huskies to be a team united in their culture and goals for the year. Look for the Lady Huskies to establish their identity on defense and to take pride in defending on every possession. Offensively, the Lady Huskies will look to play up-tempo basketball.
When asked what it would take for the team to make a deep playoff run, make it to the Final Four, or even win the State Championship, Coach Graham told me that the team must practice and play each day with purpose. Every day, they must strive to be excellent and put the team ahead of all.
