Olivia Brown Olivia Brown 5’6″ | SG Bridgeport | 2027 NE comes into this 2027 update as the top shooter in this class. Brown is a catch and shoot specialist. She can do a handful of others things out there on the floor but her best ability, hands down, is shooting the ball. When you watch this sport enough, you see players that can shoot it. When I say shoot it, I mean, it doesn’t matter how or when they shoot it, the actual shot looks the same. Every. Single. Time. Wether the player is 10FT from the hoop or 30FT. That’s Brown. She is always ready to let it fly and make an attempt for a bucket. She has also shown on several occasions that if the defense over-plays her on the shot, she can handle it and get all the way to the middle of the defense for an easier basket. There is always a lot of questions when players get into high school regarding how they will adapt. I think Brown is a player that could come in, produce steadily for her team while improving over the season, right from the start, but only time will tell.
An individual who is going to be in the debate for a Top 5 player out of this class once winter hits is Elise Pederson Elise Pederson 6’0″ | SF Omaha Westside | 2027 NE . Pederson has size and versatility. She moves down the floor in an aggressive manner while being a balanced and conservative player once she gets to her spots. She does a good job of understand her mismatches a majority of the time and taking advantage of them, while on defense she is a shot blocker. Someone that other teams need to take note in or else it’s going to be a long day for themselves inside the lane. Omaha Westside high school is getting a gamer in Pederson. She has all the talent to go out there and produce at a high level but we will just have to wait and see what happens this high school season.
Highlights
A point guard to know this high school season that is going to have some opportunity on the varsity floor is Jaelynn Moody Jaelynn Moody 5’6″ | PG Millard West | 2027 NE . Moody is a quick and shifty point guard. She moves down the court in a hurry with the ball in her hands and is very hard to stay in front of. From everything I’ve seen so far, Moody gets better as games go on. When the game is in the end of the 3rd or start of the 4th is really when Moody’s presence is felt. She is a the type of guard that has active hands and can pick up full court, usually giving her opponent a tough time as they become more exhausted. This first few months of the high school season is going to tell us a lot about several different players, Moody included. If she comes out right away and takes care of business, she is going to be a player to keep an eye on moving forward.
