Another individual that will be competing this weekend with some real height is Elise Pederson of Omaha Westside High School. Pederson has been a household name in Nebraska for Westside for a couple of years now and she is starting to bring in more interest as she moves into her Senior year. This is a SF that produces as a post. She has muscle mass to pair with her size and that helps her convert by the bucket. She can either go over smaller defenders or through bigger ones, if need be. She can also step out and pass from the outside at times when she can see the entire floor from the top of the key. I’m not sure where Pederson will end up when she commits but she is sure to have some options, especially at her size.
On a talented Omaha Westside team this winter that advanced to the Class A state tournament, Pederson played her role in the post well. She averaged just over eight points per game and was the Warriors second-leading rebounder at 5.4 per contest. Will play with Medeck and company this spring and summer for ETG where her game could really impress college coaches.

has been a prospect that we have talked about a few times throughout the years up until this point and she is primed for a big Winter season this year with her Westside High School program. Pederson comes in right around 6’0 with a physical presence to her game near the basket. This AAU season with her ETG Midwest Elite
3SSB team, she has been one of the more consistent prospects, showing that she is willing to do anything that her coaches ask of her in their time of need. When you combined that with her size and skill level at this point, you start to see the promise. In this Update, Pederson is coming in at #20 for her Class overall, a number that she should be proud of because within this group, to be ranked at all is a tough challenge. If she continues to work on her craft and perfect what she does best, watch out. This is one of those players that could get a lot of love from collegiate recruits at the end of the day.

is going to be one of this team’s enforcers in the middle of the lane. Pederson has always had size along with great balance and knowledge of situation basketball. At the same time, she has also really progressed as she has gotten older. Two years ago, you would not think that Pederson would make this ETG 15U line up in my opinion. She was a bigger body but that was about it. This past six months though, she has really locked in and grown into her own. She has gained a softer touch on the ball, coordination on the catch or pass, and she communicates with everyone else around her on the floor at an impressive rate. The most important part of a prospect moving into a successful AAU program is their fit. As long as Pederson plays aggressively but calculated, she is going to do just fine and even be this groups standout player at times.

. Pederson has size and versatility. She moves down the floor in an aggressive manner while being a balanced and conservative player once she gets to her spots. She does a good job of understand her mismatches a majority of the time and taking advantage of them, while on defense she is a shot blocker. Someone that other teams need to take note in or else it’s going to be a long day for themselves inside the lane. Omaha Westside high school is getting a gamer in Pederson. She has all the talent to go out there and produce at a high level but we will just have to wait and see what happens this high school season.
