Continue ReadingChrista had a solid day Sunday as she showed off her ability shooting the ball. She is a very strong shooter who can be seen hitting the midrange jumper when she is left alone. Christa is also a very aggressive rebounder. She will stick her nose in the paint and do the dirty work her team needs to win games. She runs the floor very hard in transition, making her an ideal fit for playing the 2 or 3 positions. An obvious team-first player, Christa is a player that knows how to gel with any team she plays on.

Adason is sure to be a contributor for the defending 4A West Champion Lake Norman Lady Wildcats this season. She is a very unselfish player and will always look to give up the ball if it means her teammate has an opportunity for a better shot. Despite playing on a guard-heavy Team 3, Addison looked very comfortable in her role, wether she played on or off the ball. I really enjoyed watching her get aggressive and attack the lane as she was able to get inside for some buckets in the paint. She’s also a very good defender (a Lake Norman trademark) who knows where she is supposed to be as she was able to disrupt her opponents passing lanes on several occasions. We are really looking forward to seeing more of her at Lake Norman this season.

Myana did a really good job running PG for Team 2 Sunday where I really like her decision making abilities. She did a good job executing the offense and was able to get to the basket on multiple occasions as she went to work driving on the baseline toward the basket. She doesn’t get fazed by high pressure defense and will give up the rock when the play is not there. She was also able to knock down a few jumpers from midrange as her teammates found her moving off the ball. Just an overall very solid player that we definitely want to see more of in the future.
Karlie is a solid spot up shooter who made the trek from Tennessee to participate in the showcase. Although she struggled to find her shot in the early goings, she never lost her confidence. She continued to look to gain momentum which is exactly what you want to see from a good shooter. She worked hard to get loose from defenders as her team found her floating on the perimeter. She was able to get some very good looks at the basket and was able to get inside for a few scores late in the showcase. We looked forward to tracking Karlie’s progress over the next few seasons at Scott High.
