I really enjoyed watching the players that I don’t typically get to see throughout the season, as well as seeing improvements from the players that I do get to watch a lot. I got to watch the first three games on court 2 before finishing out the day on court 1. Unfortunately, I only got to watch majority of the teams play one time, but I’m glad I at least got to get a glimpse of everyone that was in attendance. Throughout the day, I took down notes on what I was seeing from each player at the event. Below you will see the notes I got from team 6 at the Top 250 Expo.
Katie Pantaliono Katie Pantaliono 5'3" | PG Woodford County | 2025 State KY (#229)
Good ball handler who showed a lot of quickness. Made good cuts and facilitated well. Caught ready to pull and knocked down some outside shots, but also got to the rim some throughout the game.
Brittany Campbell Brittany Campbell 5'7" | PG Madison Central | 2025 State KY (#238)
Great drive and finish on the left side to start the game and didn’t slow down from there. Made multiple strong drives to the basket and finished consistently with a defender on her side. Also knocked down shots. Had good finds off the dribble. Looked very comfortable with the ball in her hands. Very unselfish player, but really has the ability to take over games on her own.
Nataya Strader Nataya Strader 5'3" | PG Madison Central | 2025 State KY (#281)
Good speed and quickness. Makes great cuts. Consistent hustle plays throughout the game. Great passes and decisions in transition and overall. Had some tough finishes on both sides of the rim. Quick release allowed her to get shots off quickly off the dribble or catch.
Ellah Pruitt Ellah Pruitt 5'7" | SG LaRue County | 2025 State KY (#294)
Ran the floor well. Got in on a lot of rebounds. Stayed ready to step over and help defensively. Offensively, showed she has a good outside shot. LaRue County graduated their leading scorer last season and Pruitt showed she’s ready to step up and take over some of Gentry’s scoring this season.
Kaia Peterson Kaia Peterson 5'9" | PF Scott | 2025 State KY (#306)
Rebounded well and loved the way she elevated to grab them off the rim. Defensively, slides feet well to stay in front and can use her length to block or alter shots. One of the toughest defenders I saw throughout the day. On the other end of the court, showed that she has good post moves inside, but can also extend all the way out to the perimeter to knock down 3’s.
Keira Justice (#316)
Rebounded well and consistently crashed the boards. Good strength and physicality. Love how vocal she was, consistently cheering for her teammates.
Jakiah Mitchell Jakiah Mitchell 5'10" | C Bowling Green | 2024 State KY (#329)
Posted strong and did a great job sealing off the defense. Wasn’t afraid of contact. Kept getting good defensive positioning and came up with a couple of really nice steals. Showed an ability to extend and knock down outside shots on top of finishing strong inside.
