That leaves just one region of New Jersey left to discuss in Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey’s latest 2025 rankings update: North Jersey. We discussed Central Jersey as potentially being the best basketball region in the state, but the northern third of the Garden State takes the cake, housing eight of the top 10 prospects in our update. Here’s a look at the top five 2025 prospects from North Jersey.
No. 1: Mia Pauldo Mia Pauldo 5'7" | CG Morris Catholic | 2025 State NJ – CG, Morris Catholic
When looking at the current prospects for the No. 1 prospect in New Jersey, outside of just the 2025 class, which Pauldo has wrapped up, she’s certainly staked her claim as the best player, flat-out, in the Garden State. Playing against some of the best talent in the country in just about every showcase, event and tournament you can think of, Pauldo has found a way to stick out and rise above the competition. She’s been an incredible talent to watch and she’s only getting better every day.
No. 2: Mya Pauldo Mya Pauldo 5'7" | CG Morris Catholic | 2025 State NJ – CG, Morris Catholic
From one Pauldo sister, we head over to another in Mya, an equally great player in her own regard and a top-3 prospect in the 2025 class for good reason. She’s gotten the added benefit of being part of these big-time tournaments during the AAU season and even during the high school season with Morris Catholic. Getting exposed to top-end talent and elite-level teams has rubbed off on her tremendously and paid dividends in her overall production and growth as a player.
No. 3: Gandy Malou-Mamel Gandy Malou-Mamel 6'6" | C Gill St. Bernard's | 2025 State NJ – PF, Gill St. Bernard’s
Malou-Mamel is someone that should have been on our radar a long while ago because she’s made quite the splash in the last year especially with GSB. Her height has contributed a lot to her success as she’s learned how to play with a 6-4, 6-5 frame and a long wingspan. It takes most some time to really get adjusted to those changes, but not so much for her, a big reason as to why UConn wanted her and why she committed to the program already.
No. 4: Nila Giraud Nila Giraud 6'0" | PF Montclair Immaculate | 2025 State NJ – PF, Montclair Immaculate
For the first time last season, Giraud averaged a double-double in high school, doing so over 24 games played with Montclair Immaculate. Her production across the board significantly improved, not shocking at all for a player who’s done a fantastic job during the AAU season of being ready for what’s next. Giraud went from a solid starter to a must-watch prospect with crazy talent and raw ability that not many others can boast at the forward position.
No. 5: Kennedy Henry Kennedy Henry 6'1" | CG Blair | 2025 State NJ – CG, Blair
Henry might have been more shooting-heavy as a freshman, but as a sophomore, that offensive game grew as did her shooting success. She’s an incredibly accomplished player so far and has gotten the opportunity to play top-end competition from the greater Northeast/New England region of the country. Henry is a leader in the backcourt, a proven winner, and a stat-sheet filler every night, a great representation of a well-rounded player.
