She Hoops Best of the Midwest- 2027s to note!

These incoming freshman were impressive at the Best of the Midwest event at Wittenberg last weekend. Here are nine who caught my attention!

Madilyn Ruby Madilyn Ruby 5'9" Western Brown | 2027 OH , 2027 Western Brown

I think she is a player who can get into the next level and succeed with her physical stature. She is a good strong, physical kid, good rebounder and able to score on the rebound. Runs the floor well. Active around the ball and looks to make plays to lead her team to success. One to keep an eye on!

Kendall Owens Kendall Owens 5'5" | SF Columbus Academy | 2026 OH , 2027, Columbus Academy

To say she plays the game smooth is an accurate assessment. Kendall is not only smooth but she can finish well at the rim, has good body control and uses her body well. She isn’t afraid of competition and is a player who looks to step into the high school game and continue to improve.

Isabella Dorsey Isabella Dorsey 5'1" | PG Trinity | 2027 OH , 2027, Garfield Heights Trinity

I have seen her a couple of times, and I love her energy and fiery style of how she plays the game. She has excellent handles and a good step to her game. Moves well and can knock down the perimeter shot. Active hands causes turnovers with her defensive pressure. Will only just get better. One of the top 2027a in Ohio. (feature photo above)

Dillan Bardonaro Dillan Bardonaro 5'4" Butler | 2027 OH , 2027 Vandalia Butler

Another player who I have seen and like her overall game. She is definitely a threat to score from the outside, but she also has a solid skillset in other aspects of her game. Smart, heady player who is able to play at the speed of the game. Under control and expect her to make an impact on the high school game right away.

Sidney Butera Sidney Butera 5'5" | PG Strongsville | 2027 State OH , 2027 Strongsville

After I heard about her game, I have to agree with what I heard. She has the potential to be a special one. Sidney just makes plays and puts good pressure on the ball. She has active hands and forces turnovers. Able to tip passes. Good ball control and can shake and bake and get by her defender to score. Fun to watch and expect her game to take off!!

Kennedy Houston, 2027 Centennial

A player who is capable to switch hands and score at the rim, and I really love her athleticism.  Good court swag and has good poise with the ball.  Excellent passer with great vision, able to thread the needle. Just a player who has developed her skills nicely to this point with good potential for the future.

Layla Flynn, 2027 Paul Lawrence Dunbar (KY)

Layla is a rising incoming freshman who is able to handle the ball well and plays well in traffic. Solid finisher, can explode to the rim does a nice job downhill. Good athleticism and can use her speed to her advantage. High energy kid with a desire to improve.

Mychael Thomas, 2027 Wayne

Just another kid from a good basketball program who I expect to grow her game pretty quickly at Wayne. She comes into her freshman season with solid fundamentals and she plays the game with good aggressiveness, she stays after the play. Not afraid of the physical game.

Lauren Brenneman, 2027 Anthony Wayne

She heads into her freshman season in a program that many expect to contend for a special season. Lauren showed a good downhill game with the ability to put the ball in the court and get to the rim. She can play through the physical game and will just get better everyday in practice working against the talent at AW.
