2029
Kennedy Price
Price continues to show me that the “Price Is Right” as her being long and athletic, which is the base, along with her explosiveness off the dribble continues to speak volumes. Her handling of the ball in the open court is one of the things she added over the club season and that, coupled with her crossover is going to make things hard for defenders. Now, she’s finishing stronger after contact, body control helps play a part in that, and the pull-up jumper is also a threat
Bailey Shelvin
Shelvin showed me “a plenty” in the skills session yet she wasn’t done when the games started. She’s an athletic guard who uses her athleticism well on both ends and her “on the ball” defense, baseline to baseline helped create turnovers. She handled the ball under pressure in the open court and did a good job attacking the basket strongly in the set to finish after contact included. She even showed the reverse layup from multiple spots
Asia Holmes
Holmes falls into one of the hashtags I love to use and that’s #sizedontmatter because she can play and off the top, her “on the ball” defense alone sold me. When you can apply the type of the she brings, that’s a big plus yet she’s also a “long and athletic guard” with quick hands. Her court vision in the set, as well as in transition was nice, and so was her first step as she took the defender off the dribble to score
Jayden Goff
Goff was another “long and athletic” player, I love evaluating that profile and so do many college coaches and they offer next-level opportunities. Here are her intangibles, she sets the defender up to take off the dribble, from multiple angles, and she finishes strongly after the lick but she also showed the pull-up jumper and played the passing lane well. Her on-the-ball defense in the set was also solid
Mia Zuniga
Zuniga shows something that has always stood out and that is “before you can play the game, you need to know the game” her being heady and playing within herself will translate quickly in high school down the road. Her crossover will be one of her many signature “go-to” moves, she showed she could rebound and go coast to coast to score or dish yet her seeing the floor in transition and making the right passes also was solid
Chandler Brown
Brown was yet another “long and athletic” player who stood out for a variety of reasons starting with her timing to block, alter, and (or) deflect shots and at this stage, that’s pretty big. She scored off the dribble using a deceptive first step but she also scored around the basket, putbacks included so yes, she rebounds on both ends of the court. She also showed she could defend in and outside the paint
2030
Chloe Davis Chloe Davis 5'3" | PG Lake Dallas | 2030 TX
Davis had the #D1Lock dropped on her by me the first time I saw her and she will be on many of the national lists. I don’t even take notes on her anymore, what she does is embedded in my head, and watching her take games over always has me smiling. the crossover, stutta-step as well as the HEZ, some call it the HEZZIE but back in the day it was hesitation, has been mastered. Her acrobatic finishes after contact, her pull-up jumper, and mid to long-range are solid yet she understands how to set teammates up for gimmes with great court vision. I guess her playing the passing lane needs to be mentioned as well
Jordin Lee
Lee was another athletic guard who did a good job of using her athletic ability both offensively and defensively and her scoring off the dribble using the crossover was very nice, and so is her upside as she was playing UP. Her body control on her finishes, after contact included, are ahead of her years and watching her dropmthe jumper while being defended is yet another plus. Keep adding because her “on the ball” pressure was smothering at times
