There are several players who are keen on making a name for themselves. Here are a few of the rising prospects to keep an eye on.
Na’Asia Edwards
Na’Asia Edwards
Edwards is a player with a tremendous upside. She is composed in possession and rarely makes a mistake. She is an intelligent two-way guard who can pass and score with ease. Edwards averaged just over 13 points and 5.67 assists per game during her sophomore season with Truman. The right-handed guard plays at her own pace. Her IQ on and off the ball separates her from fellow competitors. Edwards is always a step ahead and looks to get involved every chance she gets.
Williams is truly a gem. Although she is primarily a forward, her athleticism helps her thrive in all areas. She can shoot and pass the ball effortlessly. She is also comfortable in the paint. Her presence garners attention which gives her the option to finish or pass to an open teammate. One area that most underestimate is her passing and handling abilities. The South Shore product was active this summer, featuring in the, “NY vs NY Showcase” and others. Williams is determined to showcase her skillset in her final high school season. She averaged 8.17 points and 4.67 rebounds in six games during the regular season. Although she has the tools to excel, it still needs to come together for Williams. She is certainly one to keep an eye on.

Pierantoni is an offensive threat. The Cardozo guard has one of the most consistent shooting techniques in the PSAL. She can score at all three levels. Pierantoni’s steady improvement since her first year hasn’t gone unnoticed. She is capable of scoring whenever she wants due to her frame and tight handle. Her stepback jumper also allows her to create enough separation to shoot. She can also drive to the basket due to her confidence and high IQ. However, Pierantoni has to find ways to get her teammates involved as she averaged less than 2 assists per game last year. She also needs to improve defensively as she often gets beat in ISO situations.
Shaneka Campbell
Shaneka Campbell
Campbell is one of PSAL’s most versatile. The 6’1 forward was a nightmare for defenders during her sophomore season. She is two-way player who creates havoc on the defensive end. She takes no plays off and doesn’t rely on her length alone. Campbell has a soft touch as she can finish with both hands. It is difficult to keep her out of games as she is comfortable playing down low and at the top of the key. Campbell also possesses a quick first step that allows her to beat her opponents with a few dribbles. She is finished second in the league with 268 rebounds during the regular season. Although it is not her strength, adding a consistent perimeter shot to her game could make her nearly unguardable.
