Oklahoma is full of seniors who deserve a look from college coaches during the course of this upcoming season. A lot of them already hold offers, but there are a lot who still are waiting for that call. Take a look at this list and then do your diligence and get out there and change some of these athletes’ lives!
There’s a highlight film out there of Jenna where she gets the ball on the low block and absolutely works her defender for a bucket. The next clip, she takes a hand-off at the top of the arc, faces up her defender, then blows past them and gets to to the rim to finish. Her handles are nice. She can hit the three. On top of that, she is tall and long and dedicated on the defensive end. Thus, her debut at number 17 on the rankings. Sometimes those panhandle kids can get overlooked, but I’m so glad we were able to get Jenna onto the rankings before the start of her senior year. She holds several offers already and is most definitely going to be playing in college next season!
Peyton has committed to UCO and man, are they getting a tremendous PG! A scoring PG. She can shoot the lights out. She can also drive to the rim with very good handles and finish with either hand. She is an experienced player who runs Head Coach Taylor Young’s offense with precision. She is a great communicator on the floor and, maybe even more than that, she has fun. Which, as I’ve said over and over, is actually an important thing, parents. Another player who waited far too long to appear in the rankings, Walker is going to make a tremendous addition to the Bronchos roster.
Highlights
I very recently wrote about Clare in my Bishop McGuinness team preview, but I wanted to still acknowledge her debut on the 2024 rankings. She absolutely FILLS UP the stat sheet and already holds a Division-II offer.
Berry is a six foot guard, so that’s a great start. Add in the fact that she is a multiple time state champ in the hurdles, a great softball player, and has a 4.0 GPA and you’re probably asking yourself why she wasn’t included in the rankings earlier. I am, and I’m the one who makes them. Unfortunately, another panhandle kid was overlooked, but we have course-corrected. JQ is a tremendous player who could go to college on numerous scholarships, but has several basketball offers already. For her Texhoma squad, she plays every position. As a “big,” she is dominant down low and does some great things in the paint. As a guard, she can bring down a rebound and immediately head up court. She’s a threat to drive the rim or shoot it from deep and constantly has the defense guessing. Berry is a one-of-a-kind prospect in this class.
Oliver Wendell Holmes once said, “Apology is only egotism wrong side out.” So, I’ll try to stop making myself feel better by apologizing for missing great players like Ella in previous rankings. The point is, she’s here now, and she’s such a fun player to watch. It all starts with her dedication to defense and, man, is it infuriating for opponents. Ten second calls. Charges. Steals. Frustration turnovers. She does it all and eventually the opponent is just losing their minds. That’s when the Oilers start running sets that have her shooting from all over the place. She racks up the points! Don’t wait to offer Ella. You don’t want to miss out!
Jaycee is a strong, tough guard who can play just about anywhere. She can handle the ball and she can handle the rough stuff down low. She is a high-IQ player who reads the offense well and comes up with a lot of steals by jumping passing lanes. She’s got a silky floater on the offensive end and a nice, quick release on her jumpshot. Having seen her play when she was younger, I can definitely say she is on a trajectory to become a big-time player in college. Her improvement from season to season has been phenomenal and she is clearly a very hard worker. The offers have begun to come in and you are probably going to want to check out an East Central game this season so you don’t miss out on this big-time prospect!
