Gladney is one of those players that just understands how to excel at whatever position she plays and would normally fall into the COMBO guard position since I have seen her in multiple setting yet what she did at the PGH Top 250 Expo was special. She did a great job of not only controlling the tempo but getting her teammates involved and her court vision both in the set, as well as in transition was impressive yet on the flip, she showed she could score in droves, off the dribble as well as from the outside plus she applies “on the ball” pressure and plays the passing lane
Highlights
Jemerson was impressive at last seasons Sandra Meadows Classic as I added her name to the list of players who would be updated at some point but her handling the ball under pressure as well as her decision making is still embedded in my memory. She also directs traffic and sets her teammates up for “gimmes” but her ability to take the defender off the dribble and score, with either hand and finish after contact, also with either hand was nice yet she also dished off the dribble, which made it even nicer. Solid defender that can also drop the jumper
Amos gave me a glimpse both in the high school and club season and she just brings “IT” to the table. She’s one of those players that plays within herself and does a good job of setting the tone on both ends. She understands the game, she doesn’t get flustered yet can do some “flustering” on defense, not sure if that’s a word, but it is now. She also has very goods court vision and her crisp passes in traffic, both in the set and transition are nice, so is her scoring off the dribble as well as from outside
Sotello is THE GLUE and has been since I first caught her years ago with her club team. She also showed the same thing with her high school squad, which over the past few seasons has been one of the tops in the state. She doesn’t get excited, she runs the offense to precision and gets her teammates involved, more importantly she gets the ball top the right person at the right time yet her steadiness doesn’t stop there as she also does a good job of scoring off the dribble, as well as from outside, wile being defended
