Over the previous two years, before I watched Timm before her final run in AAU, I thought she was a kid with a ton of confidence with some head-scratching decisions sometimes. However, Timm played, by far, the best basketball I’d ever seen her play. Everything looked like it slowed down for her. Early in the AAU season, she out-dueled some future power-five kids with her offensive prowess. Timm only took good shots and, at times, looked like the best player on the floor against some uber-talented kids. The DePaul commitment may have caught some off-guard, but the way she’s played this summer, Timm deserved that kind of recognition from the next level.
Natalie Meaux Natalie Meaux 5'5" | PG Franklin | 2024 State WI
Playing on that Wisconsin Laker top team, there weren’t as many opportunities for Meaux to get into a rhythm offensively. That’s not bad because I felt like I saw a different version of Meaux. That version I watched would be one that would translate to the next level. She was a grittier player than I remember at Franklin in her junior season. Meaux’s competitiveness showed on the defensive end of the floor and the glass. For whatever reason, the one weakness that her team had was rebounding against some of the bigger, more athletic teams like Legends U or Mac Irvin Fire, so Meaux would routinely crash the glass and would win her fair share of those rebounding battles. That version of Meaux should appeal to coaches at the next level.
Claire Meudt Claire Meudt 5'10" | SF Waunakee | 2024 State WI
The reigning Badger-East player of the year had an outstanding past 12 months, starting with her junior season at Waunakee. Her role increased, and she thrived with the lion’s share of the offensive workload with the Warriors. She was the leading scorer on her side of the Badger Conference and gave the Warriors an offensive identity heading into her senior season. Even this past summer with Wisconsin Impact , Meudt thrived in a new setting with new teammates and became an indispensable part of her group. She’s had an outstanding past year and has a chance to do something special with Waunakee this season.
Johnson is one of my favorite kids to watch in the 2024 class because of her effort on both ends of the floor. She’s about 5-8 but crashes the glass as hard as anyone in Wisconsin. Now that the guards that led them to state won’t be at MAS, Johnson’s ability to win the rebounding battle by herself will be critical for the Novas to control the pace of games and score in transition. She’s an unheralded kid but is a game-changer.
Audrey Norville Audrey Norville 5'10" | SF St. Mary Catholic | 2024 State WI
The Zephyr had a solid summer with Wisconsin Blaze and showed her ability to handle and pass like a guard. The 5-11 wing has all the versatility that a coach at the next level could want and has all the poise in the world. She never gets too high or low during games and makes the right decisions on the floor. Keep an eye on St. Mary Catholic this season because Norville has the tools to lead this group to a deep tournament run.
Playing for Let It Rain allowed Inda to show her athleticism, which was a big reason she got the attention of every school in the WIAC. The Monona Grove combo guard loves to get after it on the defensive end of the floor and moves laterally, as well as anyone who may end up in the WIAC. Inda will work at the lead guard spot for the Silver Eagles, and my hunch is that Inda will want to push the pace as much as possible, and defenses won’t like that much. Although the Silver Eagles may not have the blue-chip prospects they’ve had in the past, they have plenty of college-level players who work well together and are as coachable as anyone. They won’t be easy to beat.
Noelle Anthon Noelle Anthon 6'2" | C Oconomowoc | 2024 State WI
Hearing about where Anthon was at the start of the AAU season to where she is now may be the story of the offseason. The Oconomowoc forward is likely the most improved player of the summer. She’s much better fundamentally than she was in her junior season and uses her body much better to bury her defenders under the rim. Her touch around the basket has been there, but she looked confident using that with Wisconsin Impact . Once she gets to her sophomore season, she could be one of the better post-players in her college conference.
Jensen has flown under the radar because she hasn’t been in the spotlight of an elite high school conference with the top team for her AAU program, but her threat to score is legit. Anytime she has the ball in her hands, she’s a threat to put it in the basket. Jensen’s quick, skilled, long, and athletic. She’s a kid who could single-handedly improve an offense after some seasoning at the college level.
Brenna Gehri Brenna Gehri 5'7" | PG Oshkosh West | 2024 State WI
The thing that makes Gehri so good is that she doesn’t need the ball to make a significant impact on the game. Like every other Oshkosh West player, she’s well-drilled defensively, and what makes her stand out is her athleticism and lateral quickness. She can defend well enough to make a case to crack a rotation at the next level, and I think there’s some offensive quality in her game that will translate to the next level.
