Katelyn McGinnis Katelyn McGinnis 5'10" | CG Kimberly | 2025 State WI
In any of the classes from 2024 to 2027, I don’t think there was a more prominent surprise than the dominance of McGinnis with Wisconsin Flight Elite . The Kimberly guard had been a player with excellent games at Kimberly and played well last summer with Flight Elite. However, the levels she reached this past summer were outstanding to watch. Whenever she shot the ball, I did not doubt that her shots were going in, and most of the time, they did. Her confidence, ability to get to her spots on the floor and skill were all factors in her taking what I’ll call a “jump,” but she made one of the most talented youth sports leagues in the country look like child’s play at times. Her performances demanded the attention of Division 1 programs, and she earned offers from schools like Eastern Illinois, Belmont, Milwaukee, and Wisconsin.
Torie Neubauer Torie Neubauer 6'0" | PF Appleton East | 2025 State WI
From the first time I saw Neubauer last season against Appleton West at East, I thought she had the potential to be a scholarship-level kid, and I feel vindicated after the past ten months. She has the size, mobility, touch, and motor that will catch coaches’ eyes, and that’s what she did over the summer, particularly late in July. She showed what she could do and dominated in free-flowing games with plenty of chances to run in transition. Neubauer will be a name you’ll see throughout the high school season in the FVA and next summer with Purple Aces .
Raegan Krueger Raegan Krueger 6'1" | PF Kimberly | 2025 State WI
Another Papermaker who excelled this summer was Raegan Krueger Raegan Krueger 6'1" | PF Kimberly | 2025 State WI . The 6-1 versatile post seemed slightly off early in the AAU season but finished strong. Once she got her footing, she looked like one of the most physical kids from Wisconsin this past summer. She overpowered most of her matchups and still showed she could step out and knock down a perimeter jumper or two when she’s left alone. A chunk of Division 2 schools took notice and offered her a scholarship. Krueger holds offers from Michigan Tech, Roosevelt, Truman State, Winona State, Minnesota State-Mankato, St. Cloud State, and current Division 2 National runner-ups, Minnesota-Duluth. That list will grow, and I wouldn’t be shocked if D1s eventually came knocking at her door.
Lillian Merow Lillian Merow 6'2" | C Port Washington | 2025 State WI
As a back-to-the-basket post player, I believe Merow is the best in her class and one of the best in Wisconsin. No other post in the state is as comfortable going to their off-hand as Merow is. I love her willingness to attack over her right shoulder and score with her left. I love the aggression she plays with and the physicality she uses to create space or create angles. Merow also runs the floor well for a kid who plays as a traditional five, which significantly adds to the value she brings to a five-person unit. The Port Washington native recently received an offer from Green Bay.
Megan Geason Megan Geason 5'11" | SF Oak Creek | 2025 State WI
I’d never seen Geason play a fast-tempo game where she could run in transition and maximize her athleticism until this summer. Once I did, the potential for her became clear in my eyes. Watching her playing with her 17u team gave me an idea of the levels she could reach, and I’m excited to see what her junior season at Oak Creek looks like and what her summer looks like playing at a higher level with Wisconsin Impact this coming summer. Her athleticism is elite compared to the kids in her class, and if her perimeter game improves, we’re talking about a kid who’ll blow up this summer.
Lauren Strifling Lauren Strifling 5'11" | PF Homestead | 2025 State WI
I believe Strifling has all the tools to play at a scholarship level. She has the size, shooter’s touch, motor, and desire to improve. I’ve admired her game since I saw her play with Chapman two summers ago, but it felt like she put everything together this past summer. She made perimeter shots, looked mobile, switched onto guards, battled for rebounds, and was consistent. She’s drawn the attention of schools like Roosevelt, Lewis, and Grand Valley State.
Addison Miranda Addison Miranda 5'7" | SG Pius XI | 2025 State WI
If you were to ask me about the best shooters in the 2025 class, Miranda’s name would be among the first out of my mouth. Her shooting alone could make Pius’ offense one of the most potent in the state. Whenever she finds any open space, she’s a threat to make a shot, and she doesn’t need much room. Her confidence has developed over time. She’s a breakout candidate this high school season. If you don’t know who she is right now, you will by January.
