Continue ReadingThe CPA Lady Lions look to have a bounce back year this upcoming season. Last year, the squad was hit with a few key injuries that derailed their quest towards being in the upper echelon of the league. With a talented 2023 class that graduated, the younger girls are ready to step up and take the reins. This squad is young, but has some senior leadership around it. Either way, the 15-10 record that was last year, will definitely be in the rearview.
Coach Legate will have her girls ready when the season rolls around. Playing in a tough district and classification (last year they just moved into DII-AA from DII-A), there was a slight adjustment. Consider it done, figured out, and ready to move forward. The Lady Lions will bring a nice balance attack to the floor. With girls that can play inside and out, look for them to create mismatches utilizing their size. This should be a fun and redemption year for the girls off Old Hickory Blvd. Look for them to take the next steps towards getting back to their old winning ways.
Here are some girls to keep your eyes on for the CPA Lady Lions.
Natalie White Natalie White 5'4" | SG CPA | 2024 State TN (5’7/Sr./G)– Will bring senior leadership to the table. Natalie is a vocal leader who will do the little things to help her team win. A selfless player, she’s an extension of the coaching staff. Shoots the ball with confidence, the perimeter is where she contributes the most. Great court awareness, she’s going to be in the right spot at the right time on both ends of the floor. Solid kid who will look to go out her senior year with a bang.
Lily Morrow Lily Morrow 5'11" | SG CPA | 2026 State TN (5’10/So./G)– Coming off injury, Lily looks to pick up where she left off. A multi-level scoring threat, Lily is good at getting paint touches. Using her frame, she’s able to establish her presence on the block, unleashing different moves around the basket. She’s a knockdown shooter from the arc, but can also slash through defenses on her way to the cup. A selfless player who gets after it on both ends of the floor. She’s the X factor for this ball club and will definitely be on collegiate coaches’ radar moving forward.

(5’6/ So./ PG)– Speedy player who is a hustler. She’s always on “go” mode. A lockdown defender who creates chaos the full length of the floor. Her forte is stealing the ball, she’s a pest on the defensive end. Offensively, she’s a floor general, executing offensive play calls. Can shoot from the field consistently, can get down hill and finish at the rim. She’s a tough competitor who leaves everything she has on the floor. Great prospect with a bright future.
