The Class of 2024 is getting ready to begin the last Winter of their high school careers, as teams are two weeks away from their first official practices for the 2023-2024 season. Last week, we released our updated rankings for 2024. We did not expand the list at all, so there is still a Top-100 and a watch list of another 125 prospects, forming a total of 225 members of the Class of 2024 listed on Prep Girls Hoops Indiana. This quarter is more of a maintenance update heading into the high school season, but we will expand the list one final time around Christmas. Below, I wanted to highlight all of the combo guards in the class who we currently have listed, as well as highlight a handful of ladies who stood out throughout the Summer and early Fall.

SUMMER/FALL STOCK-RISERS & ANY NEWCOMERS:

– I had seen film of Gabby in the past, but I was finally able to see her live over the last few months. She is an absolute blur on the court. She has speed, quickness, bounce, and balance. She is a terror in transition, and she can get to the basket any time she wants. She has unorthodox shooting mechanics, but it goes in, and she can be an elite defender. As she learns how to change speeds, I think she can be an even more consistent scorer.

– Alli was an effective ballplayer her Freshman year at Carroll. What has impressed me most, though, is how she has matured cognitively and sees the game so much better, plus she is playing stronger. Not only does she absorb contact better, but she also shoots it more consistently from deep. I still feel like she’s more of a ‘2’ than a ‘1’ because of her unique ability to score the ball, but her handle and vision remain very good.

– Sydney finished the Summer well and saw no shortage of small college interest throughout August and September. She has always played with an outstanding motor, she can handle the ball and facilitate, plus she can score it fairly well at all three levels. She has length, North/South speed, and a wiry-strong frame. She has done a nice job over the last couple of years of developing all facets of her game and becoming a complete player.

Evansville F.J. Reitz | 2024
State

, 2024, 5-7 CG, Evansville F.J. Reitz H.S.
– I have always enjoyed watching Norah, and while she is one of the better guards in the Evansville area, I feel like she stands out as one of the most instinctual and creative playmakers in Southwest Indiana. She has a nice shiftiness to her game, a little flash, but she’s also skilled and sees the floor very well. She can really shoot it when she has rhythm, she can get to the basket and absorb contact, plus she can make tight-windowed passes.

Lawrence North | 2024

, 2024, 5-5 CG, Lawrence North H.S.
– Ellysa is just one of many talented guards on the Wildcat roster, and she is one of three new additions to the 2024 list this quarter. She has tremendous length, a wiry strength, and she’s quick, fast, and somewhat bouncy. She can defend with quickness or physicality, she can handle it and create for herself or others, plus she is a capable shooter who can knock down shots from outside or get inside the arc and make pull-ups.
