There was performance testing (3/4 court sprint time, reach, vertical shuttle run, lane agility) and six 5-on-5 games. Teams were broken down into different colors by t-shirt (green, yellow, orange) and each team played two games. The Garden State was well represented and yours truly was in attendance taking notes and scoping out the talent!

Yaz crushed the performance testing and recorded a 24″ vertical, the second highest of the event, only behind D1 prospect Amany Lopez from Connecticut. She’s a quick guard with emerging handles who made smart decisions out there. Making her high school hoops debut this winter, you would never be able to tell that she hasn’t played a lick of varsity ball yet judging by her demeanor and the way she carried herself like a seasoned leader. Winslow Township is getting an immediate impact freshman come December!
Sidney was lighting it up from behind the arc all afternoon long. She has a smooth, pretty stroke from deep that makes you believe every single shot is splashing the bottom of the net… and for the most part, that’s exactly what happened! She was one of the quickest players at Riverwinds and also boasted an impressive 23″ vertical. Her electricity was on full display for her Green Team as she zipped up and down the court in transition and showed a ton of confidence taking defenders off the bounce and cutting to the hoop.
Standing 6’0″ tall, Talia was mighty impactful on both sides of the ball. She displayed great positioning and court awareness for strong put-backs under the rim and ferocious rebounding, particularly on the weakside. She imposed herself early on and commanded the paint, making opponents think long and hard before driving in and entering her space. High efficiency in the post and even higher confidence in both games she played.

Playing with a fearless mentality, Talia was fully confident penetrating the defense and attacking the rim with aggression. She was tightly guarded at times but found just the right amount of space to get off a good shot. She moved well without the ball and fought through screens to get to her spots around the perimeter. Even while facing pressure defense, she never once seemed rushed or fazed!
Showing off her hot hand from 3, Lauren buried opponents all afternoon. Her spot-up game was very impressive and she truly made it look easy at times, splashing 3’s in rapid succession. She handled the ball with a lot of composure and was never rattled by hawking defenders. A combination of speed and tight handles helped her evade pressure defense and create scoring opportunities for herself and her teammates.

Sanai brought the energy and intensity from the first whistle to the last. She showed great awareness on the court and made smart decisions on when to take it herself or pass up a good shot for a great shot. The best part? It was obvious that she was having fun while getting everybody involved out there! A total team player through and through.
The Manasquan sophomore was one of the most impressive players on the day. She was confident with her shot selection from outside and took command of the paint and demanded the ball in the low post. She was aggressive on the boards and impressive on the weakside. She served as a total rim protector, swatting away shots and totally deflating the morale of her opponents. A big season of high school hoops is on the horizon for Ava!
Highlights
Giada showed off her strength and played with a high level of physicality. She did a great job establishing position under the rim and pulling down rebounds with authority, especially o-boards. She is sturdy and not easily knocked off her base. An emerging post power, she enters her sophomore year at Saddle River Day with through-the-roof confidence and a freshly sharpened skillset.
Kimora continues to show growth and improvement heading into her sophomore season. She was fearless when attacking the rim, weaving through defenders with extreme quickness and showing off a lot of bounce. She was locked in on defense and boasted excellent lateral movement to stay in front of the ball handler at all times. She may be small in stature, but she is mighty in talent!
At 5’9″, Rose has solid size and great strength to be impactful at both the 3 and the 4. She showed off a ton of poise out there with more experienced girls and held her ground nicely. What separates her from most is her workhorse mentality. Just watching her for a few hours, I could tell she wanted it more than every girl in that gym. That mindset, coupled with her ever-growing game, makes her a very dangerous hooper.
