Ava stormed into the Select Events Finale and tore up everything in her path! I’ve followed her progression closely over the years and especially this spring/summer, and my mind continues to be blown. In typical Ava fashion, she let her versatility do all the talking in Ohio! She has evolved into a Point-Forward type of player, evident in transition. She did a phenomenal job igniting the transition offense; handling the ball and getting downhill, decelerating if the defense set up and posting up to receive the entry touch. The times she took it the full length of the court all by herself, she displayed next-level footwork getting to the rim; impressive step-through. Multi-level scoring came complete with straight-away step-back and corner 3’s and elbow pops. She showed the ability to play and defend just about every position on the floor!

Her size allowed her to see over the defense on traps and find open teammates to keep the play alive. She looked really good converting drop-off passes around the basket. Confident popping the short jumper and stretching out to the perimeter. Fluid movement and coordination. Very versatile offensive weapons for the Argos.

Ava has completely transformed her body and came out looking like an entirely different player today vs the Michigan Mystics, both physically and with her skillset. She’s extending her range out to 3, looking the most confidence I’ve ever seen stretching out and knocking down triples. Her inside-out game is rapidly evolving and it’s a testament to the work she’s putting in behind-the-scenes. Great size at 6’1″ and excellent mobility running the floor and keeping up with much smaller guards.

Ava played a ton of minutes today and delivered results; 12 points, 3 rebounds & 4 assists in an all-around fantastic performance. She ran the floor tirelessly, switching from offense to defense seamlessly and maintaining high energy throughout! In the second half, Ava turned it up a notch, battling hard on the glass and being assertive. Excellent high-low action today.

Ava’s first time donning an Argonaut uniform was a huge one! She recorded a huge double-double in RP’s 66-29 blowout of Ewing, pouring in 25 points and securing 10 rebounds. Her growth on the court has been fun to watch, but I have a feeling this year will be her biggest yet. Opening day statement made!

The Manasquan sophomore was one of the most impressive players on the day. She was confident with her shot selection from outside and took command of the paint and demanded the ball in the low post. She was aggressive on the boards and impressive on the weakside. She served as a total rim protector, swatting away shots and totally deflating the morale of her opponents. A big season of high school hoops is on the horizon for Ava!
