We’ll be doing so in this article, as well as talking about three other player commitments and a Division I offer. Iyanna Cotten Iyanna Cotten 5'8" | CG Franklin | 2024 State NJ – Franklin (2024) commits to Saint Peter’s (late August)
Franklin senior Iyanna Cotten Iyanna Cotten 5'8" | CG Franklin | 2024 State NJ must have gotten under our noses with her college commitment because following an offer from Saint Peter’s earlier in the summer, just before the school year began, she committed to the Peacocks.
This is a complete misstep on our part because we’ve been following her progress for some time now. It’s great to see another prospect in the state heading to play for a Division I program, especially one in-state. Following a career year for her with 12.8 PPG 5.3 RPG and 3.4 APG, she’s more than ready to start balling out at the next level.
Grace Kinum Grace Kinum PG New Providence | 2024 State NJ – New Providence (2024) commits to Bowdoin College
It’s been a long time coming for the New Providence senior, but earlier this week, guard Grace Kinum Grace Kinum PG New Providence | 2024 State NJ announced her verbal commitment to Bowdoin College.
She’s been the go-to player for the Pioneers over the past two years, averaging well over four assists a game and around 13 points a game during that time. She’s been one of the more complete guards we’ve seen in the 2024 class, a truly balanced player with a number of intangibles that pop. Her senior year is expected to be one filled with accolades, no doubt.
Caroline Lundy – St. John Vianney (2024) commits to Wilkes University (early October)
Earlier this month, St. John Vianney senior Caroline Lundy joined the list of Class of 2024 prospects who committed to play at the next level as she verbally committed to Wilkes University.
Lundy played her first season with the Lancers last season, coming off the bench with limited playing time, but she’s gotten plenty of exposure, playing time and growth as a player with NJ Shoreshots . This past summer was a key one for her overall development, coming off a year-long injury that sidelined her into the middle of 2022. She’s at as full strength as we’ve seen her, and she’s ready to take on a bigger role as a senior.
Janaya Meyers Janaya Meyers 5'8" | SG Bayonne | 2025 State NJ – Bayonne (2025) offered by Quinnipiac
Our line collegiate offer and lone non-senior of this article, Bayonne junior Janaya Meyers Janaya Meyers 5'8" | SG Bayonne | 2025 State NJ was back in the recruiting sphere this week, earning an offer from DI program Quinnipiac.
Meyers was a key piece to an eventual state championship winning team in the Bees last season, and her knowledge of the game, plus her maturity in the backcourt has made ripples throughout the team. Her sophomore year was a breakout year for her, and now, her junior year has the potential to be all-conference, all-region, all-state quality.
Mia Hartman Mia Hartman 5'9" | SG Princeton Day | 2024 State NJ – Princeton Day (2024) commits to Drew University
Princeton Day senior Mia Hartman Mia Hartman 5'9" | SG Princeton Day | 2024 State NJ was the first person to pop up on our latest radar as we put together this recruiting update, verbally committing to Drew University on Sunday.
Her junior season really put herself on the map, especially to college scouts, as she shined in 16 games, scoring nearly 14 points a game. While still a relatively small sample size and just 31 total high school games played to this point, the skills and potential is without a doubt there. Hartman has shot the three well over the past two years, 1.4 threes per game as a junior, and she doesn’t seem to be slowing down at all.
