Here is a quick preview of who you will see from the North.
Jess has been a volume scorer for Middlesex HS for two years with over 850 career points already. She can score inside and out. She made 43 3-pointers in 29 games as a sophomore and in addition to being 2nd on the team in scoring she led the team in assists and steals at 5+ per game and averaged 5+ rebounds per game as well. As you can see Jess contributed on every level for the Central Jersey Group 1 finalists. She was an integral part of her NJ Panthers AAU squad and with her success this summer I can’t wait to see what she does this winter.
Highlights
Alyssa has scored 600+ points in 2 seasons at St. Dominic’s HS and she has done it in a variety of ways. She is best when attacking the paint with either hand and using her excellent footwork to finish inside also with either hand. She is patient and uses hesitation well to freeze the defense. She is comfortable at the 3-point line where she hit 25 3’s in 29 games as a sophomore. In addition to leading the team in scoring, she led the team in steals, and she turns those steals into points on the other end. A leader for United EAST this summer, Alyssa game continues to expand, and her junior year will be fun to watch.
Absolutely one of my favorite 2025s, Juliana’s versatility jumps out at you when you watch her play. Whether at Montville HS or with the NJ Panthers , she hits every column of the box score in every game. In a 24-5 season highlighted by a Morris County final and a state sectional semifinal appearance, Juliana finished 2nd on the team in rebounds & steals, 3rd in points & blocks and 4th in assists & 3-pointers made. When I saw her on the AAU circuit this summer it was the same thing. She does whatever is asked of her. A consummate teammate and ultimate competitor, Juliana will be asked to lead the charge for Montville after the graduation of Grace Kowalski(TCNJ), Katie Gorski(Scranton) & Casey Werheim and their 900+ points, 97 3-pointers, 300+ assists, 60+ blocks and 200+ steals.
Mia was the 2nd leading scorer for Governor Livingston as a sophomore averaging 10+ppg and she scores in a variety of ways. She led the team with 31 3-pointers in 21 games and though not super quick off the bounce she uses hesitation and change of direction to consistently get in the paint and finish inside. She is very comfortable with the ball and sees the court well while using patience to setup her team offensively. Mia’s skills were on display with NJ Panthers this summer and her consistent defensive effort complements her offensive prowess. With the Governor Livingston’s leading scorer having graduated, Mia will be leading the charge for the Highlanders as a junior.
Bella led Cranford HS in points, rebounds and blocks as a sophomore. At 12+ppg and 6+rpg, she is not afraid to get inside and mix it up. Offensively she is just as comfortable facing up and attacking as she is in the post with her back to the basket where she has excellent footwork and patience with her post moves. If she can add a 3-point shot to her repertoire she will be tough to lock up in the UCC-Watchung Division. With a talented NJ Panthers team, Bella used her offensive prowess and good court vision to help her team to a successful summer AAU season.

Anaya Karriem
Anaya Karriem
At 6’2″, Anaya controls the middle for West Orange HS. She led the team in rebounds and blocks as a sophomore with 8+rpg and 2+bpg. She uses her length to attack the boards and block shots at the high point without fouling. Offensively she was 4th on the team in scoring and she gets her points primarily inside. She has good hands and can finish left or right. Her face up game is solid, and she is continually getting more comfortable with her 12–15 footer. If she gets defenders on her back, she can score over them by using strength to get deep post position. Playing for New Heights has improved her overall game and with all the key pieces for West Orange back this season, the Mountaineers should improve on last season’s 16-12 record.
Gisel was the 5th leading scorer for The Pingry School as a freshman. She was 2nd on the team with 29 3’s in 27 games and that is where she does most of her damage. If you are looking for Gisel you can find her either spotting up in the corner or running the baseline to the corner where she loves to shoot the majority of her 3s. She sprints tot that same spot in transition and shoots it with confidence even as the close outs come fast. If Gisel can add more dribble drive to her offensive repertoire it will make her even more dangerous from 3. She shows good defensive skills and can make plays defensively both on and off the ball.
I’ve written multiple times about Imani and she is continually improving. A true floor general, she is in control of the game whether playing for Plainfield HS or NJ Panthers . Offense runs through her and she knows how to get her points but still keep everyone involved. She is a tough mark as she can score multiple ways but she’s at her best breaking down defenses and getting in the paint. I’m sure her skills will be on display this weekend as she always rises to the occasion of tough competition.

Annabel was the 3rd leading scorer on a 24-5 team that went to a sectional final last year and all the major contributors will be back. Annabel was also 2nd in rebounding and 3rd in blocks and her length is a problem for opposing offenses. Offensively, she likes to attack from the baseline and has a strong frame to finish inside. She has a solid mid-range game and her 3-pointer got more consistent this summer playing for NJ Panthers . Not an overly quick defender but she has active hands and gets a lot of steals and deflections by correctly reading the play. She will be a big part of this teams continued success.

Another of the strong Glen Ridge HS underclassmen, Allison was 1st in blocks, 2nd in assists, 3rd in rebounds and 5th in scoring as a freshman. She is a versatile 5’11 athlete and can guard outside and inside and she uses her length well to be a disruptive force defensively. She is a hard worker on the defensive end and in transition defensively. She can put the ball on the floor and has good court vision. She can find open teammates from the blocks when doubles come, and she does not panic with the ball. She teams with Annabel Koss-Defrank Annabel Koss-Defrank 5’10” | SF Glen Ridge | 2026 NJ in high school at Glen Ridge and AAU with the NJ Panthers and these twin towers keep getting better.

A long athletic 6-footer, Brooke sticks to what she knows best and that is working inside for Lyndhurst HS. She rebounds in traffic very well at both ends of the court. She is a very good rim runner and goes end to end with ease outrunning opposing bigs. Though she does not have very refined post moves, she works hard to get good position and goes to the rim when she gets the ball. She works to turn offensive rebounds into put back baskets. She controls the paint defensively and blocks or altars almost everything that comes inside. She averaged 9+rpg and 3+bpg as a freshman leading her team in both categories and those numbers will only improve as a sophomore.
