She not only orchestrates plays effectively but also serves as a solid leader for her teammates, giving her true point guard traits Brooklyn thrives in pressure situations and has an aggressive yet balanced approach to her game which allows her to control the game’s tempo.
Tyra is a talented guard from Milbank, SD, and stood out with exceptional three-point shooting skills. Demonstrating remarkable accuracy and a quick release, Tyra stretched defenses all day long and made a significant impact from beyond the arc. She is a reliable scoring option that her teammates could count on to knock down the outside shot. I didn’t track actual percentages on the day but she had to have one of the highest from downtown. On defense, she is an active player who generates steals by disrupting passing lanes and putting pressure on the ball. Her athleticism, ability to change tempo, and impressive shooting range, made her a standout guard on the day.
Taziah is an effective scoring guard from Hanson, SD. She showed off her abilities as a scorer at the Top 250 Expo, knocking down three’s and attacking the basket with aggression and decisiveness. Understanding spacing, moving without the ball, and cutting effectively help her find ways to score the basketball. On defense she was an effective communicator, showed the ability to defend guards in a 1 on 1 setting and helped her squad rebound. A solid day for Taziah at the Expo as she heads into her sophomore season this winter!

Mia is a talented athlete for Bismarck Legacy High School’s girls basketball team in North Dakota, and she brings a unique set of skills that significantly contribute to team success. She has impressive length, which provides a physical advantage that sets her apart on the defensive end. She disrupts passing lanes and contests shots effectively. She gave great effort on the defensive end and on the boards all day long. Offensively, she attacked the basket with aggression time and time again and does a nice job understanding when the lane is open. She was one of the most consistent passers at the combine and displayed high accuracy as a playmaker for her team. Both in transition and in the half-court offense she consistently made the right play and helped her team get quality offensive possessions.
Ashlin is a sniper of a shooter for the Flyers of Freeman, SD. She brings a dynamic combination of length and athleticism to the court, setting her apart as a versatile guard at the combine. Her physical attributes contribute to her effectiveness on both ends of the floor, in rebounding, shot contesting, and defensive versatility. Offensively, she showcased her reputation as a great shooter from outside and puts a lot of pressure on opponents to contest the 3-point line. Her preparation to shoot the ball was evident in her footwork and her hands being ready to catch and release. Ashlin will be a huge key to her Freeman Flyers finding success again this winter.
Kate is an essential presence on the girls’ basketball team in Spearfish, SD, and boasts an impressive skill set that combines both shooting and an aggressive mentality. This dual-threat player showed she can influence both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor. Her consistency as a three-point shooter makes her a potent scoring threat for her team and helps generate points both in her knocking down baskets, and her teammates being able to drive in the gaps she generates by stretching the defense. Her ability to attack the basket showcases her offensive versatility, and she does an excellent job positioning her body to finish at the rim. This combination of skills makes her a scoring force and leaves defenders guessing. Defensively she looked capable of guarding multiple positions and shows off a very high basketball IQ. Rounding out her game is a willingness to board on both ends and a competitive mindset. Look for big things out of this talented guard/forward from Spearfish this winter!

Ava is a talented guard from Brandon Valley, SD, and brings an impressive blend of length and athleticism to the court, making her a versatile scorer and defender. She is a talented shooter and also showed off her diverse finishing moves around the basket game after game. Whether attacking the rim or pulling up for a jump shot, Ava’s offensive toolbox is deep and keeps defenders off balance Her ability to use her body effectively in finishing plays highlights her basketball IQ on the court. She made tough play after tough play all day long and has the ability to rise to the occasion and execute under pressure. Ava is steadily improving her game year after year and looks primed for a big 2023-24 season for the Lynx!

Nora is a gritty guard from Fargo, ND, who possesses speed and the ability to stand out as a playmaker. She is a swift decision-maker who has the ability to make great choices with the basketball and set up her teammates or herself to score. She can knock down the outside shot and runs the floor well in transition. Her play-making abilities keep the offense balanced as she can hit shots, dish out assists, and keep an offense running. Excellent vision was shown off all-day as she found teammates with spot-on passes. Great day for Nora and big things coming for the guard from Fargo!

Grace Peterson Grace Peterson 6’0″ | SF Sioux Falls Washington | 2025 State SD , a Washington Warrior in Sioux Falls, SD is a true offensive force with the ability to score on all levels of the court. Her offensive toolbox includes patient footwork and effective moves in the paint, a deadly mid-range game, and a reliable three-point shot. Her ability to make the right decisions on the court speaks to a high basketball IQ, and she has the ability to take over games if her team needs it. Grace’s ability to read the flow of the game, coupled with her excellent shot selection, makes her a very efficient scorer that leads to high-level production. Her impact extends to the defensive side as well as she is constantly crashing the boards and coming up with the ball for her squad. This provides her team with second-chance points and helps limit opponents to 1 shot possessions. Grace is an extremely well-rounded athlete who looks primed for a great rest of her high school career and another set of years beyond it at the next level!

Keyra is a post player for Sioux Valley, SD’s girls’ basketball team who brings a unique blend of size and versatility to the court. Standing at 6 feet tall she is an effective shot-blocker, disrupting opposing offenses and serving as an anchor for the middle of a defense. Her ability to hold her own in the paint offensively was showcased at the expo as well. Her combination of shot-blocking and scoring ability makes her a dual threat who can contribute at both ends. The other impressive aspect of her game is that her range extends out beyond the 3-point line which makes her a true stretch post player who creates matchup challenges for the defense.
