There were some excellent ball handlers for coaches and scouts to see at the event. Let’s take a look at some of those ball handlers.
Gaddy showed off her ball handling at the showcase. She was strong going at the rim with her right hand. Gaddy kept a low shoulder and protected the ball on her way to the bucket.
Londyn Newton is a talented 2028 that currently attends Saginaw White Pine Middle School. She was one of the most impressive ball handlers in the building. Newton pounded the ball off the floor minimizing the time it was actually out of her hands. She was able to change direction with the ball with ease and gained speed in a hurry when she got downhill. Newton was simply explosive off the bounce.
Schlorf showed off some incredibly efficient handles at the showcase. She got the ball where she wanted it to go and did so with very little risk. Schlorf kept the ball low to the ground and protected at all times. She also showed some explosive first step speed off the bounce.

Jillian Sanderson, an up and coming star from Saline, had the look of an elite young talent in the state. She kept her head up and scanning the court when the ball was in her hands. Sanderson came out of dribble moves fast and hard to the hole. She was one of the more focused ball handlers at the event and didn’t waste a dribble all afternoon.
Chase definitely drew my eye with her ability to handle the rock. She didn’t need any flash to it, she just got the ball from A to B with ease. Chase was always under complete control and never panicked with the ball.

Hitt really caught my eye working the retreat dribble with Coach Pop. She was lightning fast out of the retreat dribble and into the drive. Hitt was smooth and athletic with the ball all day at the event.
Brumfield is a player that I’ve been very high on since high school season and she reminded me why yesterday. She showed off a lightning fast first step yesterday. Brumfield has obviously improved her explosiveness with the ball and proves to be a player to keep a close eye on.
