Makayla is the lightning rod for Tecumseh. Her passion, competitiveness, scrappy defense, court vision, passing IQ, slashing ability, toughness, mamba mentality, ruthless effort, and three-point proficiency have been crucial to Tecumseh’s rise as a D2 powerhouse. Her peak performance at the Breslin Center as a junior was crucial to securing the school’s first State Championship. After posting eight points in the Semifinals, Makayla ignited Tecumseh with 11 points in the opening quarter of their State Finals victory. She added seven rebounds and three steals, earning a D2 All-Breslin selection. As a senior, Makayla averages 12.1 points, 2.7 assists, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game. She shoots an efficient 40% from beyond the arc and became Tecumseh’s most prolific three-point scorer, setting a school record with 139 career threes. It’s always telling when a prospect plays in front of PGH scouts in another state for the first time and makes a lasting impression. In Ohio, Makayla’s multidimensional impact, winning energy, perimeter accuracy, and effort resulted in a write-up. Tecumseh believes in spreading the ball around and unselfish play; as a team, they average 18 assists per game. The Indians ended the season as SEC White Champs (3rd Straight) with a perfect 12-0 record, 21-2 overall, and wins against Dexter, Chelsea, Saginaw Heritage, Blissfield, Coldwater, Midland, and Detroit Edison. No moment is too big for Makayla, and she plays her best against top competition. Makayla scored 16 points and added six rebounds in a win vs. Blissfield. She was the Player of the Game in a win against Midland, leading the team with 24 points (7/8 FTs) and five three-pointers. Makayla will continue her career at SVSU following graduation, having won 20 games or more every year of high school.

Schlorf is a dynamic point guard who showed at the 2026 Classic In The Country Challenge that she can get the job done in multiple ways on the basketball court! The senior guard can score at a high clip as well as distribute the ball at an elite level. Schlorf was able to show off her extended range knocking down three three-pointers in the game demonstrating how defenses have to respect her from deep! I’m a big fan of this small guard’s game as she brings the winning energy and effort required to compete at a very high level!

Makayla has nerves of steel in big games. She turned in a magnificent performance for Tecumseh in the spotlight once again during a statement victory at the Holiday Classic. Makayla is a pure shooter who makes teams pay when they put her on the free throw line and leave her open on the perimeter. That’s exactly what she did today. Makayla earned trips to the free throw line and converted seven of eight, while ripping the nets with a game high five three-pointers. Her anticipation and active hands produced steals on defense. Makayla led all scorers with 24 points.

Makayla was cooking for Tecumseh at the Jackson Summer League on Monday. She is a ruthless competitor who wants to win every play and possession, which is one of my favorite qualities in her game. After a steal, Makayla chased down the breakaway and blocked the shot out of bounds. She was on fire from beyond the arc, burying several three-pointers in two games from different spots. Makayla asserted herself and showed off her strength by driving hard downhill to score many and-one layups. She buried a mid-range jumper off a crossover and created many steals with her defensive pressure. Makayla ran through a pass, side-stepped a defender, and finished through a foul. She had her best on full display.

In my mind, the 2024 travel spring/summer season was when Makayla solidified herself as a serious college prospect. On the S40 circuit, she was one of the biggest stock risers. Her shooting efficiency from inside and outside the arc, court vision/passing, defensive presence/intensity, verbal communication, finishing ability through contact, combination dribbles, and muscular development/strength impressed our scouts across the board. After the travel season, Makayla helped Tecumseh win the D2 State title, averaging 12.8 points, (58% 2PT, 35% 3PT), 3.2 assists (1.56 Ast/TO ratio), and two steals per game. She shot 87% from the free-throw line and made 32 triples. Makayla was a 2026 Player of the Year Finalist, All-SEC-White First Team, D2 All-Breslin, and is committed to continuing her career at Saginaw Valley State after graduation.

Makayla poured in eight points for Tecumseh in their semifinal win vs. Frankenmuth and put the Indians on the path to victory with a giant first quarter in the finals. She buried two triples and turned a steal into a strong layup through a foul–plus the free throw. Makayla used a jab step to shift her defender and blew by for another layup. She scored all 11 points in the 1st, pursued seven rebounds, and added three steals. Makayla has committed to SVSU.
