The jump from sophomores to juniors usually holds a vital piece in the success of all teams. The following list of student-athletes in the 2025 class will make significant positive impacts on their school’s performance;
Sidni Middleton Sidni Middleton 5'10" | PG Vilonia | 2025 State AR -5’9″ SG, Vilonia H.S.-Sidni, pictured above shooting the jumper, is the “quarterback” of the team. There’s a sense of security when the ball is in her hands. Her touch-to-turnover ratio is very low and she’s the leader on a very good team. Although her strength is driving to the basket, she can hit the three-ball as well. Look for her leadership to carry the Eagles to a deep post-season run.
AJ Jackson-5’7″ SG, Little Rock Christian H.S.-AJ complements her fellow sophomore guard Whitley Rogers Whitley Rogers 5'11" | SF Little Rock Christian Academy | 2026 State AR who I’ve written about in other articles. The two are the strength of the Lady Warriors. AJ is quick and can get up and down the court. Her basketball IQ is spot on due to her two years of varsity experience. She’ll be a vital part of her team in the tough 5A Central.
Whitney Brown Whitney Brown 5'5" | PG Fayetteville | 2025 State AR -5’5″ PG, Fayetteville H.S.-This point guard does it all. She has the ball in her hands on every possession. She shoots the three, drives the lane, or dishes off to a teammate for a high-percentage shot. Whitney can sneak in for an offensive rebound and anticipates very well for timely steals. She’s quick and protects the basketball. She is one of the best players in a highly competitive 6A West District.
Libby Hood-5’11” SG, Cutter-Morning Star H.S.-Libby’s role has changed a bit from her first two years as a varsity performer. She now plays the 4 and 5 spots in addition to her guard capabilities. Her versatility is a huge asset to her team’s success. She’s much stronger which enables her to mix it up inside with the bigs. Look for her to lead the Eagles to bid for a post-season appearance.
Caroline Dean-5’5″ SG, Nashville H.S.-Caroline is a 2-year letterman who now has the leadership role for her team. Her release behind the arc is quick. She can drive the lane but is most effective behind the 3 line to draw the defense and open the middle. She’s solid with the ball, and on defense usually draws the toughest offensive opponent.
Aubrey Henderson-5’7″ SG, Morrilton H.S.-Aubrey has the size to play both inside and outside. She is a solid performer who does a little bit of everything for the Devil Dogs. She’ll shoot the 3 ball but would rather drive the lane and draw a foul. Her basketball IQ is excellent and she anticipates very well. Aubrey will play a significant role in getting Morrilton back to postseason play.
Kennedi Scrivner-5’9″ SG, Jessieville H.S.-Kennedi plays an important role for the Lions. She’s the glue. She fills in to do the dirty work. Picking up those 50/50 loose balls. Going to the floor, and playing multiple positions for teammates in foul trouble. She can go get a rebound, or help break the press. Her versatility is vital for Jessieville to make another playoff appearance.
These 2025 student-athletes are just a few of the many players who add value and experience when they advance to their junior year. They all fill an important gap that strengthens their team’s success on the court.
