SubscribeThese are a few 2025s likely stepping tino larger opportunities and roles within their programs. All showing plenty of intrigue throughout their previous second season and this past summer, these are a few JeffCo League names worth following.
A capable facilitator, McMann is proactive handling the ball in traffic, keeping the pace going to setup easy shot attempts. Active on skip passes within the halfcourt, the guard has no trouble slinging it across from one end to the other. That is especially if the defense shades heavily on the strong side. If needed, McMann was tasked with spacing the floor, most effective on spot-up attempts. Her quick pump fake allows her to fool opponents for driving lanes, eventually drawing in help to keep the defense rotating.
Mireles-Ciancio shows value handling the ball while being an assertive downhill scorer. Capable of utilizing a few combo moves to free up space, the guard is quick to recognize openings in the lane. Especially quick changing speeds laterally, the 2025 guard is often tasked with taking on the opposing shot creator. Equally versatile versus 1s and 2s, Mireles-Ciancio has repeatedly showed value at the point of attack. Their continued growth as a perimeter shooter will be intriguing, which adds another layer to the guard’s game if possible. Standley Lake will be a competitive opponent against a variety of matchups, featuring dynamic playmakers in the frontcourt and backcourt.
Vasey has shown notable value rebounding the ball, alongside impactful interior defense. Capable at the point of attack or while rotating over, the forward has played notable interior defense for Bear Creek. Especially consistent at taking away space from ball handlers, Vasey is highly active contesting shots. Although effective defensively, her efficiency as a play finisher and mid-range shotmaker will be especially valuable for this Bear Creek group. There is no doubt that the forward is among the most productive at her position within this JeffCo league. Especially productive, Vasey previously put up 9.7 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.2 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game.
Effective through past seasons, Kan took on a large role with Bear Creek, looking to continue her progression through this coming season. Effective attacking downhill, the guard typically seeks out attempts within the offensive flow. Either staying available in transition or by picking her spots on a drive, the guard is steady with her decisionmaking. Kan has been among the leaders for Bear Creek in three point attempts, yet again taking on a large role spacing the floor of this group. Her progression as a facilitator will be especially intriguing, following the departure of multiple 2023 guards.
Dependable as a complementary shotmaker, Freedman excelled at relocating off-ball and staying ready to contribute. Effective at recognizing open space to cut towards the rim, the guard has been a consistent threat with Green Mountain. The guard’s shotmaking showed intrigue throughout the season, effectively knocking down spot-up threes around the arc. Following the departure of 2023 guard Jayda Maves, Green Mountain’s structure will look vastly different than last season.
