Gatlinburg-Pittman got the win vs York in OT. After watching these four teams, here are a few opening day standouts from those games!

Kamryn Butcher
Kamryn Butcher
Butcher was a fun guard to watch! This one gets after it on defense! Always goes after the loose balls, stays aggressive, & provides her team with a true defensive toughness. Kamryn can score in numerous ways. She has a nice pull up jump shot & floater! Don’t be surprised when you see this one get hot from behind the 3 point mark too! The future for Butcher is bright!
Despite the loss, Moore was doing all she could with a tough HVA defensive squad. Maiya scored the first 4 points of the game. I don’t keep stats but I know she definitely filled up the stat sheet. Moore had numerous steals and rebounds! A quick point guard that is good at getting to the rim! Keep your eyes on Moore this season!
We have covered Kyndra numerous times now. This young star is the total package! If any college coaches are sleeping on her, I’ll tell you now to pull the trigger! Kyndra is consistent and efficient! A true floor general and another coach on the court! West’s grit and determination will continue to separate her from the rest of her class! Kyndra does hold a few offers to play at the next level. However, her recruitment is going to sky rocket during her junior year & next AAU season! Don’t be late to Kyndra’s party!!
Highlights
Kamiyah is extremely hard to guard in the post! She has a strong, solid build that helps her finish through contact! Finishes at the rim good with either hand. Extremely effective in the half court set! I love the way that Kamiyah communicates! Uses her voice whether she is on offense, defense, or the bench! The future is bright for Kamiyah Love Kamiyah Love 5’11” | PF Hardin Valley Academy | 2025 State TN !!
Despite losing to Gatlinburg-Pittman in OT, Emma Cooper Emma Cooper 6’1″ | PF York Institute | 2026 State TN was my MVP of the game. Yes, I know that many people believe that an MVP performance shouldn’t go to a losing team. However, go watch the game film and you will know exactly why Emma Cooper Emma Cooper 6’1″ | PF York Institute | 2026 State TN is deserving of the opening day MVP. Cooper scored 23 points in the loss. Knocked down 3 after 3 after 3! Shooter alert!!! Extremely smooth outside shot. Cooper’s defense was just as impressive! This was a sensational performance by Emma Cooper Emma Cooper 6’1″ | PF York Institute | 2026 State TN and if she continues this, do not be surprised when her recruitment takes off to the highest level! The young sophomore is truly a star!
