For Providence Academy, the event featured two of the most highly anticipated matchups of the entire tournament. On Saturday evening, the Lions faced off with reigning 3A state champions Benilde-St. Margaret's. The Red Knights started the contest with an early lead, but with junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='208184' first='Zahara' last='Bishop'] in foul trouble, and Michigan commit [player_tooltip player_id='177728' first='Olivia' last='Olson'] suffering an injury to her left hand just a few minutes into the game, Providence was able to run away with it. [player_tooltip player_id='252381' first='Maddyn' last='Greenway'], the #1 prospect in the Class of 2026, finished with 40 points and 13 rebounds.

But it was the previous day's matchup against Dowling Catholic from West Des Moines, Iowa – alma mater of Iowa phenom Caitlin Clark – that really took the cake. The score was back and forth throughout as we witnessed standout performances on both ends of the floor. With just over 12 minutes remaining in the second half, Dowling had a 7-point lead, but it wasn't enough to hold off Greenway and the Lions. Top 5 freshman [player_tooltip player_id='529357' first='Emma' last='Millerbernd'] made some key plays down the stretch, including exceptional defense on Creighton University commit Ava Zediker, and a beautiful wide open layup to put PA up three with just 6.2 seconds remaining. Providence walked away with a 79-76 win, and Millerbernd and Greenway finished the contest with 13 and 36 points, respectively.

It's always a spectacular sight whenever the efforts of a single player allow them to take over an entire game. That's exactly what happened in the matchup between Holy Angels and Anoka on Saturday, where senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='339117' first='Evyn' last='Eppinga'] stole the show. Anoka took a big lead early in the first half, but the Stars hit a half dozen 3-pointers to get back in the game. They trailed by just 2 at the half.. This is when things really got exciting. Eppinga went on a hot streak, going 7-for-8 from beyond the arc for 36 points and propelling her team to a 24-point win.

Also catching our eye was junior forward [player_tooltip player_id='567375' first='Maddy' last='Freking']. For those familiar with the baseball world, you may know that Freking competed in the Little League World Series in 2019, just the 19th girl ever to do so. So it should come at no surprise that she is a natural athlete with an elite full-court pass! Over the weekend, Maddy impressed us with her athleticism and natural feel for the game, as well as her rebounding and scoring abilities. She is a dominant presence on the floor and plays a good two-man game with Eppinga. With five players from last year's roster graduating for the Tornadoes, Eppinga and Freking will be crucial to Anoka's success this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='458305' first='Audrey' last='Shindelar'], [player_tooltip player_id='339214' first='Jayci' last='Rath'] & [player_tooltip player_id='339217' first='Savannah' last='Hedin'] – Stewartville

Coming off a berth in the state championship game and a record 29-win season, the Tigers from Stewartville have no shortage of talent. For that reason we've chosen to spotlight three of their top performers from the weekend. Among the trio is Jamestown commit [player_tooltip player_id='339217' first='Savannah' last='Hedin'], the #12-ranked sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='339214' first='Jayci' last='Rath'], and outstanding 2026 Top 10 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='458305' first='Audrey' last='Shindelar']. The Tigers faced Mayer Lutheran and St. Croix Lutheran, and both games featured strong performances from all three players. Hedin showcased her ability to be aggressive and fight through contact, often scoring at the rim. She wound up with 12 points against Mayer and 14 versus St. Croix.

Rath showed off her hustle defense, strong rebounding, and 3-point shooting capabilities. Jayci always impresses with her overall versatility, athleticism, and toughness. Shindelar was the engine for Stewartville all weekend and was heavily relied upon for her ball handling and leadership at the point. Shindelar scored an efficient 21 points against Mayer Lutheran, going 10-for-13 from the field. She had 13 versus St. Croix. The Tigers came away with a 2-0 record. They'll be back in the Twin Cities on Saturday to face Delano at the Breakdown Tip Off Classic.

[player_tooltip player_id='322999' first='Jocelyn' last='Land'] & [player_tooltip player_id='304935' first='Berkley' last='Neubauer'] – Holy Family

Our last duo hails from Holy Family Catholic in Victoria – 2024 combo guard [player_tooltip player_id='304935' first='Berkley' last='Neubauer'] and 2024 Butler commit [player_tooltip player_id='322999' first='Jocelyn' last='Land']. In the games with St. Croix Lutheran and Maranatha Christian Academy, Neubauer showcased her ability to distribute the basketball, particularly to Land. While neither performance was particularly high scoring for Berkley, the athletic guard can shoot from all over the floor. We saw her do many of the little things to help her team succeed, running the point, stretching the floor, and providing hustle plays at every opportunity. Berkley recently reopened her college recruiting and is drawing strong interest from a half dozen NAIA programs.

Now let's talk about Land. After this weekend her name should probably be thrown around with some of the dominant post players of recent memory – names like Mallory Heyer (Minnesota), Megan Walstad (UW-Milwaukee), Liza Karlen (Marquette), and Jenna Johnson (Utah) come to mind. Pictured above in AAU competiton, the big power forward was dominant with a capital D! She scored a whopping 79 points with 38 against the Crusaders and 41 versus Maranatha. That's more than anyone else in the tournament, as far as we're aware. Producing nearly 60 percent of her team's offense, Land was a dominant force on the floor and a beast in the paint.
