I can count on one hand the number of 4A teams who had stats posted on a public site for consumption.
Here are four players who averaged double-digits last season as juniors and hope to increase those numbers during their senior seasons.
Kayton O’Brien Kayton O’Brien 5'6" | SG Labette County | 2024 State KS , 5’6”, CG, Labette County, ‘24
O’Brien heads into her senior season as a player that Grizzlies’ opponents will have to game plan for. She averaged 12.4 points per game as a junior. She has multiple talents on the court as evidenced by her stat line of 3.1 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and two assists per game.
Kya Thornton Kya Thornton 5'5" | CG Circle | 2024 State KS , 5’4”, PG, Circle, ‘24
Thorton is a guard who can score in transition, but also make sure her teammates stay involved. In 22 games played as a junior, she averaged 12 points per game and 1.9 assists per contest. She is also not afraid to chase down rebounds averaging 3.3 per contest in the 2022-2023 season.
Ava Locke, 5’3”, CG, Chapman, ‘24
Locke scored 11 points per game in 19 games played during her junior campaign. She also averaged 3.1 points per contest for the Fighting Irish.
Keira Jones Keira Jones 5'11" | SF Chapman | 2024 State KS , 5’11”, SF, Chapman, ‘24
Jones is the second player in the Class of 2024 who scored double digits for the Fighting Irish. The Chapman small forward scored 10.9 points per game in 19 contests. She can take over a game on the boards as well averaging 8.2 rebounds during her junior season.
