, but let’s take a look at some BIG talent in the hidden 6 footers that are grabbing boards and locking down the paint for these guards to truly shine. Starting off our list we have…
Elsie Baker – Fargo South – 6′ – Elsie is nice talent that continues to get better on the court. She’s still a bit raw, but you can see the potential is there. Her footwork has increased tremendously with some room to still grow. She’s got solid strength and just needs that “push” to really battle down in the post with bigger players. Elsie has gotten better about bullying smaller defenders and even her misses she realizes there’s a higher percentage of getting the rebound being 3 feet away from the rim. Overall, she’s a prospect that I’m interested in seeing her growth through the next two years before she really makes her mark on Varsity.
Megan Dietz Megan Dietz 6'1" | SG Shanley | 2026 State ND – Shanley – 6’1 – Megan is a 6 ft guard with a lot of upside. Quick, athletic and showed a lot of prowess to get open and knock down the trey ball. That’s something that we’ve began to see more and more from hybrid bigs like Megan. She can create for herself in getting past defenders off the bounce or rip and has a nice pull up game that has developed nicely. The ceiling that she could have screams collegiate ball talent. I think she’s a hidden gem for sure and could really make a big impact this coming season for Shanley.
Kelby Christofferson Kelby Christofferson 6'0" | SF West Fargo Horace | 2026 State ND – West Fargo Horace – 6′ – Kelby is a solid wing player that continues to improve her game rep by rep. Kelby got some great exposure and experience on the court last year against a tough Class A quadrant. She’s got some solid handles on her and feet that don’t move faster than her hands. She can rip to the basket from about 15 out and use her size and a nice pro hop in getting buckets over smaller defenders. She’s a player with a lot of upside that is going to fun to watch this year as she’ll get solid 6-man to starter minutes for sure.
Carly Hulstein Carly Hulstein 6'1" | PF Shanley | 2026 State ND – Shanley – 6’1 – Carly is an athletic multiple sport athlete that just adds that “hustle player” vibe to Shanley. She’s still raw around the rim but makes up for that skill in her athletic build. She’s quick and laterally inclined for a 6-footer and has a nice back to the basket back down with a coordinated over the left shoulder jump shot/hook. She’s without a doubt a player that if just focused on basketball would be a threat on the court and someone you would hate going up against with her sheer size, strength and athleticism.
Mari Anderson Mari Anderson 6'0" | PF Jamestown | 2026 State ND – Jamestown – 6′ – Mari has a nice “stretch” game to her arsenal. She’s got a solid set shot and some nice traditional post moves. I think the thing holding her back thus far from that Varsity breakout is her aggressiveness on both ends of the court. She’s got great size and has shown signs of Varsity level talent from JV games. She’s a player that is still a bit raw but has a ton of potential. With the restructuring of classes I expect a Varsity appearance from Mari this year given her skill set thus far and ceiling for improvement.
