Continue ReadingSidney is a very strong ball handler that performed well today at the Holden Classic. I love the way she never appears rattled and always seems to be in control at all times. She was able to knock down some big shots for her team and had a number of trips to the free throw line. I love the way she is able to attack the lane and draw fouls from defenders. She is patient and will not let the defense dictates how she plays. Very strong mid-range game and an overall solid day.
Morgan is already showing the ability to be the elite-level defender that will terrorize opposing backcourts over the next 4 years. She had a quick 4 points within the first few minutes of the game Friday on sheer hustle and will alone. The fact that she can put up points without ever having a play called for her is incredible. She gets from point A to point B in the blink of an eye and knows how to take what’s the defense gives her. She knows how to recognize when the help defender comes her way and can feed to the post accordingly. Being in a program that knows how to utilize her is going to take her a long way. I really like the way she fits into the Vikings pressure-heavy defensive scheme.
Sahlay is a utility player that I would have no problem allowing her to defend the 1-4. She is just that versatile. She is quick enough to defend the backcourt but can hold her own in the front court and embraces the physical style of play required inside. A coach must find minutes for her as she provides steady and consistent play on both ends of the floor. She has very good movement on and off the ball and she is a player that can contribute without having her name called. Extremely active on the floor and an overall solid player.
Olivia is such a quick ball handler who can do a lot of things well. She drained a 3 right over the hand of her defender from the left elbow. She had a nasty crossover in the 3rd quarter which gave her a wide open lane to the basket where she finished. She is another player that is hard to stay in front of as she knows exactly how to get herself open. She can play either of the guard spots and is just an overall impactful player.I like the way she fits into this group at Porter that has a plethora of outstanding ball handlers which makes them difficult to defend.
