The recruiting trail has been a bit quieter than normal following National Signing Day, but things are expected to pick up as the early semblances of the high school girls basketball season in New Jersey have begun. However, there's still plenty to talk about. Here are some interesting updates for the Garden State.

[player_tooltip player_id='667787' first='Jax' last='Edelman'] - Morris Catholic (2027) getting looks from NC State, Illinois, Villanova, etc.

It seems like the hype for the Morris Catholic freshman guard/forward continues to grow even before her first varsity season at the high school level. [player_tooltip player_id='667787' first='Jax' last='Edelman'], recently having unofficially visited Boston College, has several other schools with her on their watch lists.

The Crusaders recently posted a photo to their team Twitter account with a letter from ACC power NC State, one that's poached some studs from New Jersey in recent years. Not only are the Wolfpack hot on her tail, but Illinois and Villanova, among other programs, have displayed significant interest in the six-foot prospect. Really exciting stuff preceding Edelman's freshman campaign at MC.

[player_tooltip player_id='559034' first='Reese' last='Sebok'] - St. Thomas Aquinas (2026) visits Lehigh

We're currently unsure whether this visit was an official or unofficial visit, but St. Thomas Aquinas sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='559034' first='Reese' last='Sebok'] took a trip to Lehigh over the weekend it looks like.

We didn't see much of Sebok in her freshman season with the Trojans, but gaps in the lineup from those who graduated in the spring should more than give her ample playing time as a sophomore. She's had some great improvements over the summer in AAU ball, playing for a top-end program in New Heights NYC, helping gain confidence and comfortability for what's to come on the court this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='414430' first='Allie' last='Shenloogian'] - Park Ridge (2025) visits Adelphi

Shenloogian is one of the most intriguing prospects in the 2025 class, someone who is a scoring machine, one of the best in the state last season. Looks like colleges are getting on her radar as she took a visit to Adelphi University on Saturday.

Game after game, Shenloogian was putting up 20-point performances and regardless of opponent, to be in that much control of the game is incredible. She brings with her grit and tenacity, a willingness to win and she's more than happy to be the one with the ball at the end trying to get that done. With that level of growth as a sophomore, who knows what's in store for her third high school season.

[player_tooltip player_id='333354' first='Sofia' last='Valente'] - Immaculate Heart (2025) visits Lehigh

Looks like the recruiting trail was hot at Lehigh over the past two weeks or so because two New Jersey prospects ended up visiting the school, the first being Immaculate Heart sophomore guard [player_tooltip player_id='333354' first='Sofia' last='Valente'].

Valente was a much bigger part of IHA's lineup last season and with a big senior class, especially the loss of two impact forwards, now gone, help down low will be needed. We would not be surprised to see Valente playing on the post more often, but her shooting ability has been important, incredibly important to package up with teammate [player_tooltip player_id='488849' first='Selena' last='Cieszko'] this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='559028' first='GiGi' last='Battle'] - Rutgers Prep (2026) visits Syracuse

Let there be even more schools added to the pot of those in on the [player_tooltip player_id='559028' first='GiGi' last='Battle'] sweepstakes. Syracuse is next up and the ACC program hosted Battle for an unofficial visit last week. She's the No. 1 prospect in our Class of 2026 rankings for a reason, even stacked up against some great competition throughout the state.

We saw the best of her come out on the floor, a balanced guard who can rebound and play great defense thanks to her height and reach, but certainly not one to forget as a scorer offensively. The tools and skillset are more than there. The talent level is certainly there. We just get a front-row seat to the show, as does everyone else in New Jersey.

[player_tooltip player_id='525309' first='Averie' last='Harding'] - Egg Harbor Township (2025) visits Seton Hall

Harding has gotten plenty of love from us over the past few months, and deservedly so. She's been a fantastic player to watch for EHT and last week, she took a visit to Seton Hall.

She's coming off her best high school season to date, an impressive mix of offense and defense that's really made headway. No wonder Harding is a stellar volleyball player too because that height plays on the court in numerous different sports. Really excited to see what she does as a senior for the Eagles and we're hopeful she'll get some all-conference honors come the spring.
