While having some time to prepare for this year, I have put together a list of a handful of competitors that will be considered for our Miss Nebraska Basketball POTY. Each player is someone that is monumental in the success of their perspective team, while also being absolutely dominate in most facets of the game across the board.
Please note: This award, depending on who is giving it, usually only accounts for players competing during their Senior seasons. That will NOT be the case in this situation. Any player, from any grade level is fair game and has a chance to win.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

One of the most dominate and forceful, yet coordinated players in the state of Nebraska is Lincoln Northeast High School’s Doneelah Washington Doneelah Washington 6'1" | C Lincoln Northeast | 2024 State NE . Washington stands at 6’1 and plays with a unique style of game. She moves off the floor at a fast rate and has a solid combination of athleticism and a high motor but she also understands to play with patience. It’s not every day that you see a competitor with the size and skill combination that Washington possesses. She will try to use that talent this winter to help her LN team make a run once the playoff’s begin. This winter’s high school season is going to be competitive throughout this state going into the post season. Washington is going to go out there and try to replicate what she did last season, when she averaged a double-double. If she can do something like this again and others around her can contribute, they should surprise some good teams over these next few months but we will just have to wait and see. Looking toward the future, Washington will compete with the Red Bird’s of Illinois State for her collegiate career. From having seen her game just over the past year, I can tell you that she is going to make an impact in that program, it’s only a matter of time.
