Here is a preview of prospects on the Washburn Rural roster.
Zoe Canfield, 5’11”, G, ‘24
Canfield scores well, but she also creates for her teammates. She is the top returning scorer for Rural averaging 12.1 points per game during her junior season. Canfield has signed to play basketball at the University of Kansas. She is the No. 4 ranked athlete by Prep Girls Hoops in the Class of 2024.
Destiny Ochs, 5’9” F, ‘24
Ochs will be leaned on to use her length to bring in more rebounds in her senior season. She averaged 1.8 rebounds per game as a junior. Ochs is a gritty defender and not afraid to sacrifice her body to get to loose balls.
Kate Hinck, 5’5”, G, ‘25
Hink is Rural’s top returning rebounder. She finished with an average of 4.1 rebounds per game as a sophomore. Hink is currently ranked No. 24 in the Class of 2025 by Prep Girls Hoops.
Tenly Bunck, 5’5”, F,’25
Bunck is a grinder who chips in on all facets of the game. Her sophomore stat line included averages of 2.9 points per game, 1.8 rebounds per game, and one assist per game.
Other athletes looking to step up for Washburn Rural this season include Allie Schroeder (’26), Isabelle Haggard (’25), Hallie Walker (’26), and college coaches should start watching the 6-foot-1 freshman Maddie Vickery.
