Continue ReadingKrise is particularly effective changing speeds while handling the ball, either taking contact to create space for a shot or hesitating to blow by a frozen defender. Adept at rising up for shots from all areas of the floor, opponents have to stay ready for a contest at all times. Her skill playmaking with the ball has made her a dangerous downhill scoring threat, effective scoring around the rim from many situations.
A highly efficient scorer on all three levels, Sabus is among the most refined shotmakers the state has to offer. With the green light, she has let shots fly on a high volume, contributing 40% of her nine attempts per game, as of December 11th. Effective from deep range, regardless of movement or stationary, Sabus is about as difficult to slow down as anyone else in the class. Defensively, Sabus has a wide reach allowing her to deflect passes and cover plenty of ground to contest shot attempts.
One of the craftier scorers in the class, Farbes brings plenty of flare while handling the ball. Effective getting into off-balance attempts in the mid-range, Farbes has no issues setting up quickly versus a contest. While attacking downhill, the senior guard is smooth getting to euro steps to evade a defender, maintaining excellent balance. Farbes shows consistent value defending opposing ball handlers, quick to take away space and get a hand into the opponent. She holds offers from Highland and Colorado Northwestern.
Contreraz has continued to refine her game, both facilitating for teammates and knocking down shots along the perimeter. Posting career high in points, rebounds, and assists per game, the pace of play has clearly slowed down for the lead guard. She has been consistent leveraging hesitations and pump fakes to get defenders out of position, attacking downhill for pull-ups or finesse finishes around the rim. She is a pest at the point of attack, getting into position early to deflect the pass, reading the opponents for their next decision. Following a state title, Contreraz looks to continue Holy Family’s incredible run in 4A.
Biglow still remains a bit of a mystery, although there is no doubt she has immense potential along the perimeter. Showing upside stepping into three point attempts following a weak contest, her upside scoring off the dribble will be particularly exciting to follow. She has a knack for reading the opponent tendencies, intercepting passes and proving assertive while away from the ball.
Manzanarez brings excellent balance getting into shot attempts, effective setting her feet quickly and with balance. Often utilizing spin moves to free up space in the paint or short mid-range, she can flow into quick pull-ups. Effective flowing into pull-ups out the three point line, the guard effectively use ball screens to create space for the jumper.
Highlights
Hernandez has shown value throughout the summer scoring out of the offensive flow, getting around through off-ball actions. Active flowing out of pindown actions, the guard does well getting into the paint with momentum, making a decision within a couple dribbles. She also holds gravity spacing the floor, knocking down perimeter shot attempts when available.
