Coleman has steadily shown she can get the job done playing the 1 or the 2 yet at The Opening, her court vision was over the top, both in the set as well as in transition. She applies heat on both ends, her “on the ball” pressure creates havoc which many times lead to turnovers yet her creating her shot and dropping it with a hand in her face is also a plus. Her first step also creates problems for defenders as she can attack off the dribble and finish strongly after contact
Terrel continues to turn into a TERROR on both ends and watching her read the defense and play the passing lane, then take it all the way to finish or dish is part of. Yeah she does a good job of seeing the floor in the open court, yet her crisp passes past defenders in the set are also nice. I also like her “pull-up” jumper and watching her elevate and drop while being defended is always a treat. She has a nice crossover to get to the basket in the set and her defensive pressure is also solid
Villarreal was another standout at the PGH Top 250 Expo but it seems like she finds ways to grab my attention in school, as well as club basketball which is why I talk about her being The Glue. Whatever needs to be done, she’s ready and since she’s heady and understands how to run a team, that’s great yet so is her ability to score, both off the dribble and from outside. She does a good job of creating her shot, her deceptive first step gets her by the defender yet they can’t play off of her because she nails the mid to long-range
Highlights
Williams made my GAMECHANGERS article from the PGH Top 250 Expo yet she’s been changing games since I caught her as a freshman with her St Agnes high school club. She handles pressure nicely and being a “long and athletic” guard who can score as well as as distribute are definite pluses. Her court vision in transition keeps getting better, so does her body control on her finishes yet watching her drop it from outside while being defended adds even more. Her defense is also solid
