In the article below, I am going to highlight a handful of players out of the 2026 Class, that have been recently added to our PGH system. Each player is someone to know moving forward, as they are already seeing the varsity floor this season.
Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!
McKenna Powell McKenna Powell 5’10” | SG Malcolm | 2026 State NE is a player that I have recently featured for a moment because of her stand-out production to start this 2023-2024 season but I wanted to speak on her game a little bit more. Powell is a 5’10 shooting guard that has a flame thrower for an arm from deep. Her mixture of natural length and balanced shooting ability makes for a deadly combination on the high school floor. Throughout her teams first 5 games this season, she is averaging 12.5 PPG on 47% shooting from the field, while shooting 50% from behind the arc. It’s early on in the year but if she continues to produce at this level and her team continues to win, I think it could open the eyes of some potential recruiters out there. When you take into account everything I stated above and combined that with the fact that she is also putting up numbers in other categories each contest, such as rebounds, assists, and blocks, you can start to see why she falls into our #17 spot in this update. Her upside on the court is noticeable to anyone paying attention.
Highlights
Someone that has been a constant producer on both ends of the floor this winter, while dominating in the categories of scoring and rebounding is Emerson Ehler Emerson Ehler 6’0″ | PF Ponca | 2026 State NE of Ponca High School. Ehler would be described as a player that dominates down-low because of her patience, size, and motor. On most occasions, Ehler gets herself in the correct position as their play is unfolding, so that a guard of their’s can dump it off to her for an easy bucket. If not, she has the ability to sit in the post with her back to the basket and give it a solid attempt if she has some time. If she happens to miss that first attempt, she does a fantastic job of jumping up again right away for another opportunity at the rebound. From the small sample size I have seen, Ehler’s best ability is rebounding. She is good at other things on the floor as well but because of how well she does rebounding the ball, that seems to set everything else into place. She has basically averaged a double-double to start this season so it’ll be interesting to see how the rest of this winter plays out.
Addy Bowlin Addy Bowlin 5’10” | SG Mitchell | 2026 State NE stepped onto the court as a Freshman last season and did a good job making her presence felt. She moved around the perimeter for the most part and was one of her team’s knock down shooters from deep. As for this year, the Tigers are four games into their season and Bowlin has picked up right where she left off. She is catching in rotation, making shots from all over the floor, and leading her team while doing it. I wouldn’t say that Bowlin’s play-style is only one dimensional but her best ability is shooting it from deep, no questions asked. She does have a good mixture of size and athleticism to beat her opponents whenever she feels like it off of the dribble but you can tell that she is really comfortable letting it go from long-range. There is a few more months between now and the next update for this state again, if Bowlin can keep up the shooting efforts while tallying some positive stats in some other categories along the way, she is going to be happy where she places in that next update.
When you first think about Omaha South High School and Girl’s high school basketball, you think of Sierra Thomas Sierra Thomas 6’0″ | PF Omaha North | 2026 State NE and her production in the middle of the paint but there is another underclassmen that has been emerging slowly throughout their first four games this season as a player to know. That player is Eve Hodoly Eve Hodoly 5’5″ | PG Omaha South | 2026 NE . Hodoly is a guard that can mix up her positions on the floor. She plays a natural 2 spot but has the ability to bring up the ball and run the show if need be. So far this season, Hodoly is leading her Omaha South team to an overall 3-1 record in their first four games. In these contests, she is averaging 13.3 PPG, 3.8 APG, and 5.5 SPG. As you can tell, her hard-work and dedication is starting to pay off in a big way. These are some nice numbers across the board. Looking toward the future, I’m hoping that she can build off of this momentum. She is in a good place right now. If she stays hungry, she is going to like the results when her high school career comes to a close.
