In a program with talented guards all over the place, Bub brings some size and skill the Warhawks will desperately need in February and March. Although the Warhawks boast extremely gifted perimeter players, Bub is their zone-buster, in my opinion. In the past few seasons, I haven’t seen many kids consistently knock down 12-foot jumpers in the middle of the zone to the level of Bub. She reads the game well, has plus length and athleticism, and her ability to punish zones takes the pressure off their guards.

I remember watching Becker shoot the ball well in July at the Wisconsin Varsity Invitational. Fast Forward four months, and she’s knocking down big-time go-ahead threes with less than ten seconds left in an overtime game on the road against Waunakee. Having a kid who can shoot the ball like Becker is valuable, but like every other Silver Eagle, Becker competes on the defensive end, even though Becker gives up size in those matchups. She may not be the first name on the scouting report, but she has the trust of her teammates and coaches to make plays in crucial parts of games, and she’s already rewarded that trust.

Everything about Becker is intriguing to me. Right now, she’s raw and has a long way to go to where she could be, but she has a ceiling that could lead to her playing solid basketball at the next level. She’s a 5-10 wing with more range than most six-foot kids and can knock down perimeter jumpers from time to time. Becker could be a solid three-point shooter and provide some versatility on the defensive end. She’s one of the kids with potential I’ll follow over the next few seasons.
I only saw Sarna once for about 14 minutes of game time, but I loved what I saw. She’s a physical post-kid who does all her work around the basket. However, she plays harder than most high-level posts I’ve seen around the Midwest. She battles for positioning to post up or rebound, has good hands, can finish around the basket with either hand and runs the floor. One to keep tabs on.
